Badacsonytördemic - Badacsony (west path)

Access to starting point:
From Pomurje highway we turn on exit Dolga Vas, and then we continue driving towards Hungary. The path ahead leads us through the settlement Redics, and then we follow the signs for town Zalaegerszeg, and from there in the direction of Lake Balaton, Heviz and Keszthely. When we get to the settlement Keszthely we turn on a bypass road and then we follow the signs for Balatonfuered (by the bypass road there are roundabouts). When at the end of the settlement Keszthely a road branches off towards the settlement Sopron, we continue towards the east, but only 2 km, and then we turn right towards the village Badacsonytördemic. When we cross a railway track we go on the first street left and we park on a large parking lot at the railway station.
A little shorter path is Lendava - Pince - Tornyszentmiklos - Nagykanizsa - exit Balatonszentgyorgy - Badacsonytördemic, but orientationally it is much harder.

Path description:
From the railway station, we go on a one-way road which goes slightly upwards. We soon get to a crossroad, where we continue right, after that only a little further at the next crossroad we go left. We continue on at first a gentle, and then on an increasingly steep road which continues on the western slope and among vineyards.
Further, the road leads us through few crossroads, which are well marked (at one of the crossroads a path branches off with a blue circle sign, which then returns on our path). When higher the path for some time flattens the asphalt also ends, and a view opens towards the west and on ruins of the castle Szigliget. Here we will leave the cart track and pass on staircase, which will bring us to the inn.
From the inn we continue parallel with the path with sign "red path" (we continue on the path marked with blazes "blue line"). At the nearby crossing, we continue left, and we follow a gently sloping path only about 50 more meters and then we continue on steep stairs. During the ascent on the stairs there are four resting places, first of them is called resting place Ilone Zrinyi, the second Lorantffy Zsuzsana, third Csaky Krisztina and the fourth Czinka Panna. When we walk all the stairs we get to a crossing, where to the left continues the path on the nearby viewpoint, and we continue right, where we quickly get to a bench with a nice view into a valley. Further, we get to Ranold's cross (Ranold was a bishop), by which there are some benches and a nice view. The path ahead leads us also past a shelter, after which it gradually passes on the main part of the former volcano. A little further, we get to the next crossing, where the marked path turns a little downwards (we can choose a well-beaten shortcut, which past another shelter leads back on a marked path), and then it again starts ascending.
We continue on the path marked with "blue line" and we ascend there to with a forest vegetated peak.
From the top, we can on our own responsibility ascend also on a lookout tower, from which a view opens up, which reaches all the way to Donačka gora, Boč, Ivanščica, Ravna gora and Pohorje.
