Bašelj - Planina Kališče (on unmarked path)

Access to starting point:
A) From highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Kranj - east, and then we continue driving in the direction of Jezersko. When we get to Preddvor we leave the main road and we continue driving left towards the center of the mentioned settlement, from there we follow the signs for settlement Bašelj. When we get to Bašelj, at the spot, where the main road makes long left turn, we leave it and we continue driving straight in the direction of the path Gamsova pot. We continue driving on a narrow asphalt road which leads us between the houses and stream Belica. We park on a parking lot by Tourism Association Bašelj.
B) From highway Jesenice - Ljubljana we go to the exit Kranj - zahod and at the first crossroad, we continue left. Further, we drive through the underpass below the highway, and then we get to a roundabout, from where we continue driving in the direction of Golnik. The path ahead leads us through the settlement Mlaka pri Kranju, and at the end of the settlement, we continue right in the direction of the settlement Srakovlje. Next follows driving through Srakovlje, Spodnja Bela, Srednja Bela, Zgornja Bela (in Zgornja Bela we join the road from Preddvor) to Bašelj, where the main road makes long left turn, we leave it and we continue driving straight in the direction of the path Gamsova pot. We continue driving on a narrow asphalt road which leads us between the houses and stream Belica. We park on a parking lot by Tourism Association Bašelj.

Path description:
From the starting point, we continue on the macadam road which is with a traffic sign closed for public traffic. On the road, we are gently to moderately ascending, and past the football and basketball field and past the water supply structure it brings us to a marked crossing.
From the crossing, we continue slightly left in the direction of partisan hospital Košuta and Kališče (right a little shorter path to Kališče), where the path leads us on a steeper cart track, and from there after a short ascent, we go left on a marked footpath. Next follows an ascent through the forest, and at the part where we go through the clearing the path is a little overgrown. Next follows some ascent and we reach the macadam road, on which we ascend to a smaller saddle, where to the left continues the path Gamsova pot, and few steps ahead a minute long path branches off to the right, which leads to the summit of Gradišče.
We continue on the road which slightly descends, and then turns right and it brings us to the turning point, where it ends.
Here the worse road, on which leads a marked path continues to the left, and we continue straight, where we notice an unmarked footpath, on which we continue. Next follows an ascent on a steep slope, after that slope flattens a little, but the path remains steep. Higher the footpath mostly sticks to an indistinct ridge and further it crosses few cart tracks. Next follows few minutes of panoramic ascent, and then we return into the forest, where we get help from a steel cable, but the passage even without steel cables woudn't be very difficult.
Few strides above the steel cable we return on a marked path, and the path continues to ascend quite steeply and on two spots we have fixed safety gear for help (in the dry undemanding). Higher, the path turns a little to the right and after few minutes of additional walking, we get to Spodnje Kališče, where there are few cottages and from where a nice view opens up on Storžič.
