Path description:
From the starting point, we go on a macadam road, by which there are signs for Bohinjska Bela, Stan, Rčitno and Pokljuka. We at first walk by camp Bled and a small stream and then we gradually get closer to railway tracks, and to the other side we come through the underpass. After the underpass, we go left, and at the nearby marked crossing we choose the right path in the direction towards Rčitno (straight Bohinjska Bela). Few strides ahead over the bridge we cross the stream and after the bridge we go right, where we follow the blazes. Next follows a walk through the forest, and we are ascending on a cart track, from which a view opens up on a torrent over which in rainy period a bigger waterfall is falling. Here the path turns a little more to the left and is mostly ascending diagonally. Higher, we once again cross a torrent stream, where during a high water level the crossing is quite difficult, and the path only a little further turns right and it brings us to a shorter panoramic part, from which a nice view opens up, which reaches from Lake Bled to Kamnik Savinja Alps. Next follows traversing towards the right, where blazes for some time vanish, and when the cart track starts ascending we again notice them. When a little higher we reach the macadam road we follow it to the left (right Bled on the road) and there we are moderately ascending. Higher, we go past the trough below crosses, and only a little further from the left joins the path from Bohinjska Bela.
We continue straight in the direction of "Rčitno" and we are still ascending on the macadam road. Further, the road passes into a small valley below Strešno brdo, and when we leave a small valley we pass over on slopes of Gače, from where for some time a view opens up a little on surrounding hills. The path ahead for some time returns into the forest, where it also splits.
We continue slightly right on an ascending cart track (straight mountain pasture Planina Rčitno - 5 minutes), which on the right side bypasses the mountain pasture Planina Rčitno. During the diagonal ascent for some time a view opens up a little towards the mentioned mountain pasture, and the cart track soon passes into a dense forest, and at the nearby crossing we choose the right cart track which is further quite rough from torrential waters. The mentioned cart track, we then follow all the way until we get on a macadam road which we follow to the right. On the road, we are few minutes lightly ascending, and when the road starts descending, we leave it (we leave the road on part, where it starts descending, or we can also about a minute ahead at the ruins of former homestead Posavc) and we continue left in the forest, where after a minute or two we reach a former ski track of the ski slope Zatrnik.
We continue the ascent on the former ski track, which turns left, after that with increasingly beautiful views we get to the upper station of an abandoned ski lift, from where to the top of Hotunjski vrh separates us only few 10 strides of walking on the ridge.
