Bohinjska Bistrica - Črna prst (via Orožnova koča)

Access to starting point:
A) First, we drive on Bled, and then we continue driving towards Bohinj. When we get to Bohinjska Bistrica, from the roundabout we continue in the direction of Soriška planina and Tolmin, and then we get to the road Jelovška cesta, where at house number 10 there is the beginning of the described path. We park somewhere nearby, best by the foot of the former ski slope Kobla.
B) From Železniki or Petrovo Brdo we drive to Bohinjska Bistrica, where on the road Jelovška cesta at house number 10 there is the beginning of the described path. We park somewhere nearby, best by the foot of the former ski slope Kobla.
C) To the starting point, we can get to also with a train.

Path description:
From Jelovška cesta 10 we continue towards the southwest, where already after few meters, we notice signposts for Črna prst. From houses the path passes on a cart track, on which we in few minutes ascend to military cemetery from the first world war Rebro. The marked path bypasses the cemetery on the right side, and then leads us through an ample meadow, where few minutes ahead we join a little wider cart track. We continue slightly left, after that few 10 meters further we cross a macadam road, where at first a distinct cart track gradually starts ascending. Higher, at the crossing of cart track, we choose the right branch, by which there are old signs for Črna prst, from there we go little higher once again slightly right on a footpath which starts ascending steeper. All the time we are ascending by quite rare signs, after that on a smaller mowed meadow we reach the cart track which we follow to the left, there in few steps we reach a wider macadam road.
When we reach the road, we continue left downwards following the signs Črna prst (right old path towards the mountain hut Orožnova koča), and few 10 strides lower at the marked crossing we turn right in the direction of Črna prst, mountain pasture Planina za Črno goro and Orožnova koča. The path ahead on the right side bypasses a privat house (used to be mountain hut Planinski dom dr. Janeza Mencingerja), after that a little ahead it joins a cart track, on which we continue to ascend. A little higher, at the crossing we continue right, and then the path continues through the forest. Even a little further, the path leads past a log cabin and a cross, and then we already get to a marked crossing, where we continue right in the direction of Orožnova koča (left mountain pasture Planina za Črno goro).
The path then crosses slopes a little towards the right, and meanwhile it also descends considerably. When the descent ends, from the right old path joins, which is a little shorter, but officially no longer marked. Next follows a walk on a forest path, where we cross few cart tracks, and at the marked crossing we continue on the right path. Few minutes higher we reach the forest road which we only cross (right Orožnova koča on timber slide).
Next follows a relatively steep ascent through the forest, and higher from the right a little longer path on timber slide joins.
We continue left and in few minutes we get to the mountain hut Orožnova koča on the mountain pasture Planina za Liscem.
From the mountain hut, we continue in the direction of Črna prst, on the path which goes into the forest and which at first runs on botanical trail. After the initial ascent path quickly flattens, and then it is ascending diagonally towards the right, and occasionally it also descends a little. Higher botanical trail turns right, and we continue on a marked path, which gradually becomes steeper, meanwhile also passes out of the forest. Next follows an ascent on slopes of Črna prst, where the path for some time becomes more rocky and for a short time also pretty steep. The steepness quickly decreases and the path turns left, where it ascends diagonally over short quite steep slope, and then the path and the slope flatten out, and only a little further we get to a marked crossing, where joins the path from the mountain pasture Planina za Črno goro and the path from Soriška planina.
We continue right and in few steps ascend on a saddle Čez Suho, from where a beautiful view opens up towards the south.
Here we continue right in the direction of Črna prst and we ascend by and on a panoramic ridge. The path quickly flattens and passes on sunny side slopes, where we are lightly ascending on quite steep grassy slopes. A little further, the path turns slightly right and it ascends to the mountain hut Dom Zorka Jelinčiča na Črni prsti.
Mountain hut we bypass on the left side and in a minute we steeply ascend to the summit of Črna prst.
Bohinjska Bistrica - Orožnova koča 2:20, Orožnova koča - Čez Suho 1:05, Čez Suho - Črna prst 15 minutes.
