Dol - Stegovnik (through window)

Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Kranj - east and we follow the road ahead in the direction of Jezersko, but only to the inn Kanonir, where we turn left. We further follow at first still asphalt road, but only to approximately 2 km distant crossroad, where the road branches off to the right on Stegovnik. We go on this road which we follow few 100 meters to a gate, where we park on a smaller parking lot.

Path description:
From the gate we continue on the forest road which after approximately 20 minutes of ascent brings us to a larger clearing, on the edge of which there is a holiday cottage (to here possible also on marked shortcuts).
At the beginning of the mentioned clearing we notice signposts for Stegovnik, we go left and we still continue the ascent on the forest road. The mentioned road, we then follow a little less than 20 minutes, to the light the left turn, in the middle of which relatively steep cart track branches off to the right. We go on the mentioned cart track, by which we notice "unofficial" blazes. After few minutes of the ascent on a cart track, we get to a smaller crossing, where we continue on the left cart track, by which there are still some "unofficial" blazes. Cart track then brings us to a clearing, where it changes into a barely visible, but still marked footpath. Here the path turns to the right and it ascends to a bigger boulder, which we notice a little above us.
At the boulder we again step on a marked path, which we follow to the left (right saddle Močnikovo sedlo). The path ahead in a gentle ascent crosses southeastern slopes of Stegovnik, and then it starts ascending steeper. After few minutes of the ascent, the path brings us on a small saddle between Stegovnik on the right and Mali Javornik on the left.
Here we continue right (left saddle Javorniški preval), on a short connecting path, which at first through a clearing, and then through the forest brings us to the next crossing.
We again continue right in the direction of Stegovnik (left mountain pasture Javornik) on the path which after few additional strides, brings us to a natural window in Stegovnik. A well-secured path with the help of steel cables brings us to the window, and then with the help of a ladder we descend to the neighbouring window, from which we descend on the other side of a broad ridge.
Further, the path is in numerous zig-zags steeply ascending and higher it brings us to the main ridge, where it turns to the left. Next follows a steep ascent, which we overcome with the help of steel cables (undemanding), and then the path brings us on the western secondary peak of Stegovnik. A gentle descent follows, and then the path continues on a very panoramic ridge. After a good 10 minutes of walking on in parts slightly exposed ridge, the path brings us to the top of 1692 meters high Stegovnik.
