Erjavčeva koča na Vršiču - Prisank / Prisojnik (via Kajzljeva škrbina)

From Kranjska Gora on the road which leads over the mountain pass Vršič we drive towards Bovec or vice versa. Between 22th and 23th hairpin turn of Vršič road we will get to the parking lot below the mountain hut Erjavčeva koča, where we park.

Path description:
Because of damaged fixed safety gear, the described path is currently CLOSED (data from 5th August 2020).
From the parking lot at the mountain hut Erjavčeva koča na Vršiču we go on a footpath in the direction of the mountain hut Poštarski dom and Prisojnik on the path Kopiščarjeva pot. The path on which we walk is at first gentle and grassy, and then crosses a torrent, where usually runs a well, and behind the torrent it ascends diagonally. We continue on a marked path, which a little ahead crosses old road, and when we reach it the second time we continue there to first right hairpin turn.
From the mentioned hairpin turn we continue straight on a footpath which then crosses slopes towards the left, and from there nice view opens up towards Heathen maiden and surrounding mountains. After the crossing of some smaller gullies path for some time steeply ascends and it brings us to a marked crossing, where we continue left (right mountain hut Poštarski dom na Vršiču).
Next follows a diagonal ascent towards a wall of Prisojnik, still before we reach the wall the path branches off to the right towards the saddle between Prisojnik and Sovna glava.
We continue on the mentioned right path (straight path Kopiščarjeva pot on Prisojnik), which is further ascending diagonally below the mountain walls of Prisojnik. Higher slope flattens and after some additional 10 strides we reach better beaten path from the mountain pass Vršič.
From smaller saddle we continue left in the direction of Prisojnik (right Sovna glava and Vršič) and we continue on the scree. Further over the scree we cross slopes on the west side of Prisojnik. The path ahead a little steeper ascends and it brings us to the spot, where the path Grebenska pot on Prisank branches off to the left, and in the direction of straight continues the path which leads on Razor, Pogačnikov dom and Prisank (Prisank - Južna, Slovenska and Jubilejna pot).
We continue straight, and the path becomes less steep and we are again very quickly at the crossing. This time we continue left following the signs »Prisojnik (Slovenska pot), Kajzljeva škrbina – Zadnji Prisojnik«, right leads the path towards Mlinarica and Razor.
From the crossing, we then for some time in ascent cross more and more panoramic grassy slopes towards the east and from the right side joins also poorly beaten footpath from Mlinarica. And only a little after that, we come to another crossing.
This time path Slovenska pot on Prisojnik branches off to the left upwards, and we continue straight following the signs »Zvoniki, 2. window v Zad. Prisojniku«. The path for some time crosses grassy slopes, after that also our path turns slightly to the left and starts ascending steeper. Here on some spots we also get help from a steel cable. Further, the path still mostly in ascent crosses slopes on the south side of Prisojnik and in doing so it crosses few shorter scree and gullies. Higher slopes, which we cross become even a little more steep and the path is on some spots also slightly exposed. And on hardest parts there's a steel cable for help. When we come on the eastern side of Zvoniki path turns a little to the left and then follows an ascent on a rocky slope to the notch Kajzljeva škrbina where a view opens up on the northern side.
On the notch where we join the path Jubilejna pot on Prisank we continue left and we pass over on steeper northern slopes. Further follows some exposed crossing, and later we steeply ascend and we again reach southern slopes of the mountain. We continue slightly right upward and we soon join paths Slovenska pot and Grebenska pot on Prisank. From here follows only a shorter ascent on the southern slope to a very panoramic summit.
