Gorenji Novaki (Mrovlje) - Škofje

Access to starting point:
A) From the valley Poljanska dolina we drive to Hotavlje, and then we follow the signs for ski slope Cerkno. We follow the signs for ski slope Cerkno only to Kopačnica, where from the crossroad, where to the right the road continues towards the ski slope and Leskovica, we continue straight, on the road which continues along the stream Podplečica. At the homestead Joškovec, where there is the next confluence of rivers, we continue right, after that on partly macadam road we start ascending steeper. Higher, we leave the valley and the road in two hairpin turns and after a shorter crossing brings us to a double hayrack in front of the farm Mrovlje, where the described path begins. At the starting point, there aren't any parking spots.
B) We drive to Cerkno, and then we continue driving in the direction of the ski slope Cerkno. In Dolenji Novaki, where the road makes the left hairpin turn (hairpin turn is located few 100 meters before the parish church of St. Tomaž), we continue right, on a side road in the direction of Kopačnica. Next follows driving on a narrower asphalt road, and at the crossroads, we continue straight on the asphalt. Higher follows few more turns, and then we get out of the forest to individual houses at the farm Mrovlje in the settlement Gorenji Novaki. Here at the first crossroad we continue slightly right, before the road starts visibly descending on the right, we notice a hayrack, by which there is the beginning of the described path. At the starting point, there aren't any parking spots.

Path description:
From the hayrack we go on a macadam road which continues towards the southwest. We are ascending on a panoramic grassy slope, from which a nice view opens up on surrounding hills, and after a little less than 10 minutes, we get to a religious symbol and few steps ahead to the farm Novine.
We continue between the hayrack and the house, and at the crossing, we choose the slightly right cart track, from which we soon go left. Next follows a light to moderate ascent through a lane or a periphery of forest, and when we reach the indistinct ridge where from the left another cart track joins, we continue right, at first on the ridge. At the nearby crossing, we choose a slightly left cart track and we leave the ridge and then we cross slopes mostly towards the west. During the crossing on a little more grassy part, a path branches off slightly to the left towards the nearby hamlet, and we go slightly right and we continue with the crossing. When the path already brings us west from the hamlet, it turns more towards the south and continues through the forest. When we reach a side ridge of Škofje we continue right, and when we higher reach a worse road, we also follow it to the right. A little further, we step out of the forest and we continue on a wider road or a cart track. Next follows traversing of a panoramic grassy slope, and we leave the road at part where at the small cottage (probably an old hayloft) we continue slightly left on pathless terrain. On pathless terrain we in few minutes ascend on panoramic northeastern ridge of Škofje, from where a nice view opens up in the direction of Porezen, and we continue left in the forest. In the forest immediately appears a relatively easy to follow footpath, on which we continue to the nearby peak.
If from the peak we continue on a marked path, we in few minutes descend to a viewpoint and bivouac.
