Access to starting point:
We drive into Baška grapa or to the settlement Grahovo ob Bači, where we turn on a side road in the direction of Zakojca, Bukovo and a railway station. Next follows some descent, and after crossing the railway track, we go left towards Bukovo (right railway station Grahovo) and we start ascending. Next follows an ascent in few hairpin turns, when we get to a crossroad, where the road branches off sharply to the right to the near and from the road visible homestead Brelih, there is the beginning of the described path. We park on an appropriate place by the road about 200 meters ahead in the direction towards Bukovo, or already lower by the road.
To the starting point, we can get to also on foot from the railway station Grahovo, for that we need approximately 30 minutes.
Path description:
From the crossroad near the homestead Brelih, we continue sharply right and we walk to the mentioned homestead, and behind it we continue on a cart track which ascends diagonally on a grassy slope and leads towards the homestead Pušnik. During the ascent on a grassy slope a nice view opens up on Baška grapa and the peak Kotel on the other side of the valley, and we go also past the information board of themed trail Na svoji zemlji. Higher, we reach the western to northwestern ridge, where the path turns left, and we still continue on a cart track.
Here a nice view opens up on Črvov vrh, and at the crossing, we choose the left cart track, on which in few minutes of additional walking, we get to homestead Pušnik.
The residential house we bypass on the right side, and then we go from the cart track left over a grazing fence (path which continues straight is because of the sleet in February 2014 practically impassable). Only a little further, the footpath for some time ends, and we continue on a grassy slope somehow towards the east to southeast, where soon appears a relatively easy to follow footpath. The footpath soon turns to the left and then through a meadow ascends diagonally on a forested ridge, where it turns right. We continue on a followable forest footpath which higher turns left and crosses slopes.
We don't cross long, when we reach the indistinct ridge, where with some attention we notice a cairn, which points us to the right, on a slope or ridge straight upwards, and on parts we can sense traces of predecessors. The pathless ascent lasts only few minutes and we already reach a newer cart track which we follow to the right. Here at first a nice view opens up, which reaches all the way to Matajur, and a little ahead from the right joins already mentioned because of the sleet hardly passable path. From here we continue on a gentle cart track which gradually widens into a worse road, and then by the edge of a smaller valley we lightly descend to a marked crossroad, where we join the path through Žrelo.
From the crossing, we go right in the direction of Črvov vrh, and then in a moderate ascent we continue on the macadam road to a smaller saddle, where we go right in the direction of Bukov gaj (straight Gorski Vrh).
Only a little after the crossroad we leave the macadam road, because cairn points us left on a nicely beaten footpath which after few minutes returns on a macadam path, and we follow it to the left. Next follows some of walking with nice views, which reach all the way to Trnovski gozd, after the crossing of a grazing fence on the right we already notice Bukov gaj, where there is a source below Črvov vrh.
From Bukov gaj we continue on a lower cart track which leads us towards Črvov vrh. Next follows few minutes of crossing with nice views, and then on a wide cart track we ascend on a panoramic peak.
