Griže - Dragov dom na Homu (via Zahom)

Access to starting point:
We leave Štajerska highway at exit Žalec, and then we follow the signs for Žalec. Through Žalec we follow the signs for Griže, which we reach soon after the bridge over the river Savinja. In Griže we go right in the direction of the cemetery, and we park at the parking lot opposite the parish church of St. Pankracij.

Path description:
From the parking lot opposite of the church we continue on the asphalt road upwards, and at the nearby crossroad, we go right in the direction of Hom and Šešče pri Preboldu. The path ahead leads us past two chapels, and then the road descends to a crossroad near the inn Gostišče pri Zibiki.
Here we go slightly left in the direction of Dom na Homu and tourist farm Kotar (straight - direct path on Hom and Hom via Lajnarjev hrib).
The path ahead again starts slightly ascending, and at first leads us past few more houses. Griže soon ends, and the path by which we notice few of rare blazes for some time leads through the forest. Higher, we get to a crossroad, where a road branches off to the right towards the farm Kotar, and we continue on the main road which is still moderately ascending.
Further at few crossroads we follow the main road, and then two short hairpin turns follow. A little further from the left joins the path from Zabukovica, and from the settlement Pongrac we get to the settlement Matke (hamlet Zahom). Here we soon get to the smaller saddle between Kamnik on the left and Hom on the right.
We continue right towards Hom (straight - Matke), where we are for a short time still ascending on the asphalt road, and then we go slightly right on a forest footpath. Higher, we cross the asphalt road towards the right, and above it we quickly get by the edge of the forest, from where a nice view opens up on surrounding hills. The cart track higher brings us to a macadam road which we follow left upwards, and at the nearby well we go right on a steep footpath which is ascending through the forest. At the smaller crossing, we go straight towards Hom, and when we reach the asphalt road we continue the ascent there. The road soon flattens, and then by crossing eastern slopes of Hom past the house we get to a marked crossing, where we join the other paths from Griže, Matke and Šešče pri Preboldu.
Here we go left, at first past the house, and then on a steep road in few minutes we get to the church of St. Marija Magdalena and Dragov Dom on Hom.
