Access to starting point:
We drive to Kamnik and follow the road ahead towards the valley of Kamniška Bistrica. We park on a large parking lot at the bottom station of the cable car on Velika planina. Further, with a cable car we go to the upper station, which is the starting point for our tour.
Path description:
When we step from the cable car, the path after few ten strides it brings us to hotel Šimnovec, in front of which we notice numerous signposts. We continue on a transport road in the direction of Zeleni rob. The road on which we walk is at first gently, and then moderately ascending on and by the ski track. After approximately 30 minutes of walking, the path brings us to the inn Zeleni rob.
Only few meters before the inn transport road turns right and after a short ascent, it brings us to a midway station of the chairlift. From here we continue the ascent on a ski track, which for a short time steeply ascends and it quickly brings us to the upper station of the chairlift. Here in front of us we already notice the peak, which we reach after additional 2 minutes of walking.
From Gradišče we continue slightly right on the path in the direction of shepherd settlement on Velika planina. Poorly visible, but marked path past shepherd settlement Gradiščkovi quickly brings us on a wide path, which we follow to the right. After few minutes of additional walking, we come to a crossing, where we continue left downwards in the direction of the mountain hut Domžalski dom. After a short descent, the path brings us into a smaller valley, from which we ascend to visible mountain hut Domžalski dom.
