Kočna - Planina Obranica (via Baba)

Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Lipce, where we turn left in the direction of "Blejska Dobrava and Spodnje Gorje". Soon, when we drive in railway underpass we are at the next crossroad, where we drive in the direction of right - Bled, Kočna. At first, a zig-zag road ascends straight towards the west and soon at the left turn reaches the top or settlement Kočna. Our starting point is otherwise situated 100 meters before the settlement sign, but because of continuous line we drive past first houses, where on the right we notice a bus stop. Here we turn around and we return all the way to turn or spot - few meters before we would descend back into a valley. By the road on a macadam grounding we park.

Path description:
From the spot, where we've parked at first we carefully cross the road and on the opposite side we return 20 meters towards the valley. Here we notice a green sign with the caption "pohodniška pot 6", where in the direction, which it is showing we continue in the forest. Here we turn right, where we soon run into the first blaze, which points us left uphill on an indistinct ridge. Here the path steeply ascends, and after few minutes turns even more left towards the south and in doing so it flattens. Short time path is gradually even descending, whereupon turns right uphill and after this left over rocks. From here further at first for a short time runs out of the forest, then again back into a mostly deciduous forest, where it is moderately to steeply ascending.
After a good 20 min of walking from the starting point by the path, we run into a smaller sign with the caption "baba 5 min", where we can turn right and view famous "Poljanska baba".
The path towards the mountain pasture here continues straight or left uphill. We soon run into larger number of the fallen trees, which hinders us on the path, and after this it turns right and after the left turn reaches the ridge, where there is also "Dedec" - (rocky pulpit), on which we can ascend. The path continues right, in the direction of west, increasingly steep uphill. Next follows some smaller zig-zags, whereupon the path starts to lead again more and more left towards the south. When the steepness starts decreasing we are somehow on the top of plateau. Here winding path occasionally descends a little and back ascends, and from time to time almost vanishes, and all the time more or less runs by east edge of plateau. When we get closer to the destination, but we are still in the forest, we are descending a little, and we run into wooden fence with a door. When we step out of the forest, we are on the mountain pasture Obranica. Left we notice monument, southeast and behind it top of the mountain pasture with a cross on the trunk of a tree (this we can't see from here), where se we go for a view. From here we descend back - west, a little uphill, through a meadow towards last part of the mountain pasture with shepherd hut. Which we reach in additional 5 minutes of walking.
