Koprivna (Kumer) - Wackendorfer Spitze

Access to starting point:
A) First, we drive to Luče (to here from Kamnik over mountain pass Volovjek (Kranjski Rak) or from Štajerska highway and past Mozirje and through Ljubno ob Savinji), and then we continue driving in the direction of valley Logarska dolina. When we get to Solčava we leave the main road and we continue driving right towards Črna na Koroškem. Further, we drive on an ascending road which at the crossroads we follow in the direction of Črna na Koroškem and mountain pass Spodnje Sleme. From the mountain pass ahead the road starts descending, and we follow it to the spot, where we join the road Črna na Koroškem - Koprivna. Here we continue left and then at the next crossroad approximately 1 km ahead right towards the mountain hut on farm Kumer. Further, we are ascending by the stream Koprivna, and we follow the road to a crossroad, where the road branches off sharply to the left towards the earlier mentioned mountain hut, straight the road continues towards the mountain pasture Luža, and to the right, a marked path branches off on Peca (the latter at first runs on the road as well). We park on an appropriate place by the road.
B) From Koroška we at first drive to Črna na Koroškem, and then we continue driving towards Podpeca and Koprivna. At the crossroad, where a road towards Podpeca branches off to the right, we continue slightly left, and also at the next crossroad, where a road branches off to the right into a valley of Topla. Ahead we for some time still drive by the river Meža, and then we first get to a crossroad, where a road branches off to the left towards the mountain pass Spodnje Sleme and forward towards the valley Logarska dolina. Here we continue straight, and then at the next crossroad approximately 1 km ahead right towards the mountain hut on farm Kumer. Further, we are ascending by the stream Koprivna, and we follow the road to a crossroad, where the road branches off sharply to the left towards the earlier mentioned mountain hut, straight the road continues towards the mountain pasture Luža, and to the right, a marked path branches off on Peca (the latter at first runs on the road as well). We park on an appropriate place by the road.
C) First, we drive to Šoštanj, and then we continue driving on a winding road towards Črna na Koroškem. In Črna na Koroškem we continue left in the direction of Podpeca and Koprivna. At the crossroad, where a road towards Podpeca branches off to the right, we continue slightly left, and also at the next crossroad, where a road branches off to the right into a valley of Topla. Ahead we for some time still drive by the river Meža, and then we first get to a crossroad, where a road branches off to the left towards the mountain pass Spodnje Sleme and forward towards the valley Logarska dolina. Here we continue straight, and then at the next crossroad approximately 1 km ahead right towards the mountain hut on farm Kumer. We park on an appropriate place by the road.

Path description:
From the starting point, we continue straight, so on the road which is ascending parallel with the nearby stream. The path ahead leads us past a well Žegnan studenec and a little higher to the turn-off of cart track on St. Ana. Higher, the road makes a sharp left turn, by which there are information boards, and right on this spot we leave it and we continue straight on a worse road which only a little further crosses the national border. When we step into Austria we short time continue on a bad road, and then we join a wider macadam road, on which in few minutes we walk to the main part of the mountain pasture Luža.
From the shepherd hut, we walk to the second part of the mountain pasture, and there at the crossroad we continue right in the direction of Peca (slightly left Železna Kapla / Bad Eisenkappel and Topica / Topitza). We continue the ascent on the macadam road which is gently to moderately ascending by the edge of the mountain pasture. After approximately 15 minutes of additional walking, we will on the left side of the road notice signposts for Peca, which point us sharply left on an ascending cart track. The mentioned cart track in a diagonal ascent quickly brings us to newly built forest road which we follow to the left. After few 10 meters of walking on the mentioned road we go right on an ascending cart track, on which we are ascending through the spruce forest. After approximately 1 hour of walking from the starting point, we again step on a macadam road, on which we in few steps ascend to the mountain pasture Zgornja Luža.
From the mountain pasture, we continue on a marked path (at first still a road) in the direction of Peca. After few 10 strides road turns to the right, and we continue left on a foot path which starts moderately ascending through the forest. The path gradually starts ascending steeper, and higher it brings us out of the forest on slopes covered with dwarf pines. Further, we are ascending on the more and more panoramic slopes of Peca, on the path which eventually brings us to the main ridge, where we get also to a crossing.
We continue sharply left (right Bistriška špica and Kordeževa glava) on a marked path in the direction of "Globasnitz". The path ahead slightly descends, and then in a moderate ascent brings us on an indistinct peak, from which a wonderful view opens up on the valley Dravska dolina.
