Access to starting point:
From Novo Mesto or Otočec we drive to the village Velike Brusnice. Further, we follow the road towards the village Gabrje. When the road almost brings us in the village, we come to a crossroad, where we continue left (right Gabrje center). The road then past the church runs forward towards Gorjanci. We follow the road to a crossroad, where the road branches off to the left towards Miklavž, and right towards Gospodična and straight border forest road. Near of this crossroad, we park on a parking lot by the road.
From Metlika we drive towards Novo Mesto, but only to mountain pass Vahta. Here we turn right and we follow the forest road we approximately 11 km to a crossroad, where left downwards the road branches off into Gabrje, straight towards Miklavž and right towards the border forest road. Near of this crossroad, we park on a parking lot by the road.
Path description:
From the parking lot, we continue on the road in the direction of Miklavž. The road which is at first ascending gently after 10 minutes of walking comes out of the forest. Next follows for approximately five minutes of walking on the road which is surrounded by meadows to the hut. From the hut to the church is less than a minute of walking through the forest.
