Kuk - Rušni vrh

Access to starting point:
A) First, we drive to Škofja Loka, and then we continue driving towards Železniki, Podbrdo and forward towards Tolmin. Soon after the end of the settlement Podbrdo, narrow and steep road towards the village Kuk branches off to the right. We park by the main road on an appropriate place near the crossroad.
B) We drive to Bača pri Modreju, and then we continue driving towards Podbrdo and Železniki. After settlement Hudajužna first road towards villages Znojile, Stržišče and Kal branches off to the left, and we follow the main road for approximately 1 km, and then we get to a crossroad, where steep asphalt road towards the village Kuk branches off sharply to the left. We park by the main road on an appropriate place near the crossroad.

Path description:
From the starting point at first we carefully cross the main road, and then we go on the road in the direction of village Kuk. The road at first ascends diagonally on a steep slope, and then it brings us on a ridge, where it turns sharply to the right. Next follows few minutes of walking and the path brings us in the mentioned village.
In the middle of the village we turn slightly right, on the road which few 10 meters higher ends. We continue left on a wide cart track which immediately turns right and it ascends diagonally on a steep slope. We soon get to a crossing of cart tracks, and we choose the one, which turns sharply to the left. Further cart track ascends over short meadow, and then passes into the forest and is ascending diagonally on the western slopes of the peak Durnik. Higher, we reach a smaller saddle, where the path passes on the right side of the hill named Krn. Mentioned peak without large changes in altitude we only cross, and then on the next saddle we again pass over on the left side of the ridge. This time we will on the left side bypass a peak Stonbont, which is with 882 meters the highest peak of the ridge, on which we were walking for some time. Next follows a short descent and the path, from which a beautiful view opens up on Spodnje Bohinjske gore quickly brings us in the village Kal, where we reach a marked path.
In the village Kal we notice signs for Črna prst, which past a trough with water and some houses lead on a cart track which at first ascends on a grassy slope, and then passes into the forest, through which we are then ascending for some time. Higher, we join rough forest road which we follow to the right, and we walk there to the marked crossing on the saddle Sedlo.
From Sedlo, from where joins the path from Podbrdo, we continue left and we follow the cart track only for a short time because then blazes point us left on a footpath which starts ascending steeper and steeper through the forest. Higher, the footpath for some time flattens a little and then it brings us to a viewpoint with a bench. A little after the bench footpath splits into two parts (better beaten is right path), and after approximately 15 minutes they again join. Only a little above junction of both path, we get to the next bench, from which a beautiful view opens up towards Kobla and peaks above Soriška planina.
From the bench for a short time, we continue through the forest and then the path passes on the more and more panoramic grassy slopes. When we step out of the forest, the path slowly starts turning a little towards the right, and then turns left and it ascends diagonally to a saddle Čez Suho, where joins the path from Bohinj side.
On the mentioned saddle we leave the marked path and continue right on an unmarked footpath which ascends on the ridge of Rušni vrh. The steepness quickly decreases and a more panoramic path after 5 minutes of walking from the spot, when we left blazes brings us on a little visited peak.
