Ljubelj - Vrh Ljubeljščice (Triangel) (via Ljubeljščica)

Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Ljubelj and follow the road ahead to the border crossing. Only few meters before the border crossing we will on the right side notice a parking lot, where we park.

Path description:
At the end of the parking lot, we notice signposts for mountain hut Koča na Ljubelju, which on some stairs take us to an old Ljubelj road. This road which is moderately ascending and is in the winter time converted into a sledding track we follow all the way to the mountain hut Koča na Ljubelju. With in parts nice views on Košutica, Veliki vrh and Begunjščica we reach the mountain hut after a little less than an hour of walking. At the end of the parking lot, we notice signposts for Koča na Ljubelju, which on few stairs take us to an old Ljubelj road. This road which is moderately ascending and is in the winter time converted into a sledding track we follow all the way to the mountain hut Koča na Ljubelju. Which in parts with nice views on Košutica, Veliki vrh and Begunjščica we reach after 45 minutes of walking.
From the mountain hut, we continue left in the direction of Zelenica and Polna peč. The path ahead goes past the mountain hut and immediately behind it starts ascending. The steepness soon decreases and the path brings us on mostly vegetated ridge, from which occasionally a view opens up a little. After additional few minutes we already notice in front of us peak Polna peč, which the path bypasses on its northern side on steep slopes. The path which almost circles the peak only few steps below the summit it brings us to the crossing. Here we continue left in the direction of Povna peč (Polna peč) on the path which in few steps it brings us on a panoramic peak (right Zelenica).
From Povna peč we return few 10 strides back to the last crossing, and then we continue on the ridge in the direction of Zelenica or ridge of Ljubeljščica. The path which continues towards the west at first leads on partly forested ridge and then for some time steeply descends by the edge of a steep grassy slope. When the path flattens, the ridge narrows and on the right side we cross exposed gully, behind which we quickly return on the ridge. Next follows some easy ascent, and then we get to the spot, where there is (was) the caption end of safe path (konec varne poti), but safe path already ended at the crossing of the first gully.
Next follows a moderate descent on a crumbly exposed ridge and then the path again starts ascending and further it is mostly moderately ascending. The path ahead leads us also through few for slipping dangerous passages, and caption Zelenica a little further for some time leads on the Slovenian side of the ridge. When we return on the ridge, the path brings us to technically most difficult part of the path, where with the help of fixed safety gear we steeply descend (even though this part is technically most difficult, are some prior unsecured passages more dangerous). Further, we walk in a moderate ascent on a very panoramic ridge and then signs for Zelenica - varovana pot (secured path) point us to the left, diagonally downwards, where we cross shorter scree. When the scree ends with the help of fixed safety gear we steeply ascend on a side ridge and from there again with the help of fixed safety gear we descend on the other side, but the descent isn't that difficult. Next follows an ascent, where we return on the border ridge and then some ascending follows to a saddle Čez Pod, where we go left towards Vrh Ljubeljščice and which after a minute of additional walking, we also reach.

We descend to Zelenica and from there on a marked path back on Ljubelj.
