Access to starting point:
From the eastern Ljubljana bypass, we head to the exit Ljubljana - east and continue driving along Zaloška cesta in the direction of Zalog. Further, we drive on the main road, and then only about 300 m after we have crossed the Ljubljanica River, we park on a well-maintained gravel parking lot by the railway line.
Path description:
From the parking lot, we head into the underpass under the railway track, above which there are signs »Debni vrh, Stari grad and Pečar«. Immediately after the underpass, we continue left and after a short traverse ascent, the path brings us to a junction by a smaller stream. Both paths lead towards Debni vrh and cross again a little higher.
If we continue on the right path, which is slightly less steep, we first ascend more steeply beside the mentioned stream, then the path turns right. The path becomes less steep and quickly brings us to a left bend where the »Trda varianta« to Debni vrh branches off to the right upwards.
We continue left on the less steep path, parallel to the stream, which is located to the left below us. The path then turns left and after a traverse ascent, we cross the already mentioned slightly steeper path. The path then becomes somewhat steeper and slowly turns right. The fairly steep path continues ascending through the forest and higher joins the previously mentioned path. A shorter ascent follows and the path brings us to a side forested ridge where there is a junction. There is also a bench at the junction.
From the left, the path from Podgrad joins us, and to the left also continues the Ostrovrharjeva pohodna pot towards the old castle Osterberg. At the junction, we turn right and continue the ascent along and beside the ridge of Kašeljski grič. The path then runs for some time along the eastern slopes and soon brings us to the ridge where the mentioned »Trda varianta« joins us from the right.
In continuation, the path runs along the forested ridge and rises and falls slightly several times. Occasionally, a small view opens through the forest, mainly towards Ljubljana. We continue further along the ridge and from the left, the path from the old castle Osterberg also joins us. A somewhat steeper ascent follows where we will notice a cross or chapel in the hollow trunk of a tree along the path. The path then brings us to the summit, in the middle of which stands a wooden observation tower.
