Nova Gorica (Hotel Perla) - Škabrijel (direct path)

Access to starting point:
A) From highway Razdrto-Nova Gorica we go towards Nova Gorica in the direction of the center and we park on a parking lot on road Kidričeva cesta before Hotel Perla.
B) From the direction Italy we also go towards the center of Nova Gorica.
C) From the direction Bovec and Tolmin we go towards the center of Nova Gorica to the parking lot in front of Hotel Perla.

Path description:
From the parking lot at road Kidričeva cesta before Hotel Perla we at the crossroad cross the road Vojkova cesta and past the church and police station we continue past the settlement of few houses to the traffic light crossroad below Vetrišče on bypass road. We cross the road in the direction of Vetrišče and after 50 meters we turn to the left uphill towards Škabrijel.
We continue among vineyards and settlement Varda and we follow the signs. When we get to the asphalt path towards Kekec we cross it and we continue approx. 50 meters and we turn left on a footpath upwards and we continue to a macadam cart track, where we turn left on an asphalt road which is coming from the direction of Kekec where we turn to the right towards the summit Škabrijel. After 15 minutes of walking the asphalt ends and signs for Škabrijel point us to the left.
Here is a bench and a tap with a drinking water from the source. The macadam road quickly leads to the next crossroad. We continue right upwards (straight - Sveta Gora and Prevala) on a worse cart track, from which after few minutes immediately after the right turn, a marked footpath branches off to the left. A pleasant path, which only in heavy rain can be muddy is a military mule track and on a smaller section it is pretty steep and it brings us to the top of Škabrijel.
The entire path leads through the forest and it is appropriate also for sunny and hot days.
