Access to starting point:
Highway Maribor-Graz-Salzburg (A9) after few shorter tunnels outside Graz we leave and we continue right on the highway in the direction of Wien-Bruck/Muhr-Peggau.
We then leave the highway at exit Frohnleiten and we continue right in the direction of Teichalm.
In the settlement Gschwend we leave the main road and we continue on the road towards the settlement Tyrnau, where at the sign "Parkplatz Rote Wand" we turn left.
Narrower asphalt road leads us steeply upwards. After the last houses it passes into a macadam grounding and it brings us to a larger parking lot, where we park.
Path description:
From the parking lot, we continue on the macadam road which at the beginning leads parallel to the parking lot.
On the path on the road soon a nice view opens up on the wall Rote Wand.
The road is slowly ascending to the saddle Bucheben (1081 meters), where at the signposts we turn right into the forest.
We continue on the mountain path through the forest. The path is becoming steeper.
When we step out of the forest, we cross a slope and we continue on the edge above wall or a little left by the forest. Here a nice view opens up towards the east and south.
The path then for a short time runs through the forest, and after approximately 200 meters we get to the peak.
The path is very well marked and is undemanding. It offers a nice view and option of a circular path via mountain hut Tyrnauer Almhütte back to the parking lot.
