Rečica pri Bledu - Bled Castle (čez Višce)

Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Lesce and we drive to Bled, from there we go towards Pokljuka and Spodnje Gorje. Near the settlement Rečica we run into roadside signs "Hotel Triglav, railway station, rowing center", which we follow, and we turn left. After this, when we drived past restaurant Vila Mangart from the right and through the settlement, we notice right turn off, and on the road a sign for bus stop. We park on an appropriate place (currently possible in front of abandoned house on the left side of the road).

Path description:
We continue on the road in the direction in which we were driving before. At the first houses, before the right turn we turn left on a side road (Za gradom). We continue there past two houses, then straight (right settlement), to a small bridge over the stream, which we cross. Here we are standing on a cart track which we leave and we step on the footpath on the right, and we follow the sign "Višce". A pleasant forest path at first ascends on winding path, and a little higher turns slightly left, gradually flattens and follows a wide ridge in the direction of southeast. After a short walk we run into a nice monument of Adolf Muhr, lord from 19th century. After it, the path crosses a cart track and it quickly brings us to a clearing with a bench. From here we continue straight through a meadow (right is also correct), where we soon notice only a little distant Bled castle. On a meadow we don't turn left, but we continue straight to the edge of the forest (thicket ), where we run into dve footpaths, which are descending on a smaller slope. We choose right, descend in the direction towards the lake, and soon we run into a wider path, on which we continue left, towards the castle. By the path which is descending a little we run into two benches, on the lowest point, before it ascends, the path crosses also a little wider path, which is coming from the lake. After a short ascent at the crossing we turn slightly right, after this we soon turn off from the gentle path to the left, on a path upwards towards the top. Not long after this our path again crosses less steep path and in a gentle right turn continue with an ascent towards the top. Higher, the path flattens, and we turn right. When from the path by the northern edge of the hill from almost immediate vicinity we see the castle, turn off from the path to the right, on a footpath which leads towards the top of the ridge. This in a gentle left turn brings us to a vantage point on rock, from where an interesting view opens up on Bled castle and lake with island. On the descent back on the main path, by slightly ascending crossing of a steep slope strong fence accompanying us, soon we also descend on a path to the parking lot below the castle. We continue at the entrance through castle walls and on a paved path we ascend to the entrance to the castle yard (in the season payment of the entrance fee). After a visit of the lower terrace we continue also past wine cellar, to the upper terrace with gothic castle chapel, museum and restaurant.
