Rogarjev rovt - Rosenbachsattel/Rožca

Access to starting point:
A) From highway Ljubljana - Jesenice, we go to the exit Jesenice - east (Lipce), and then we continue driving towards Jesenice. In the traffic light crossroad in Slovenski Javornik we continue left towards the center of Jesenice and Kranjska Gora, and on the main road, we drive to a crossroad, where signs for Golica and Planina pod Golico point us to the right on an ascending road. The road towards Planina pod Golico we follow to the sharp right turn, where we turn left in the direction of Plavški Rovt. Above Plavški Rovt asphalt ends, and the road for some time even descends a little. And a little higher we get to a crossroad, where signs for Dovje 9 km point us sharply left on again steeper macadam road. From the crossroad ahead, we follow the road a good 2 km, or more precisely to Rogarjev rovt, which we recognize by some holiday cottages. We park at an appropriate place at the smaller crossroad, where unmarked and worse forest road branches off to the right towards Hruška planina.
B) First, we drive to Kranjska Gora, and then we continue driving towards Jesenice. In Dovje we leave the main road and we turn left towards the center of the village, from where we follow the signs for Dovška Baba. The road soon behind the village brings us to a crossroad, where we continue on the right road (sharply left Kepa and Borovje). Further, we drive for quite some time to the next crossroad, where a road branches off to the left towards the mountain pasture Dovška Rožca (in descriptions starting point Ravne), and we continue straight towards Plavški Rovt. Soon after the crossroad we cross the stream Presušnik, and then the road also ascends a little. When the road flattens it still crosses slopes towards the right, and then it brings us on a smaller saddle, after which it starts descending diagonally. Next follows also a crossing of the stream Dobršnik, and then we need to pay attention, because we will soon get to Rogarjev rovt, which we recognize by bigger meadow, smaller parking lot and turn-off of cart track to the left.

Path description:
From the starting point, we go on a bad macadam road which at first gently ascends over Rogarjev rovt. On the other side of meadow road goes into the forest and behind the gate starts ascending steeply. Higher, the road brings us on a ridge north from less known Suhi vrh (1339 meters), from where for a short time a view opens up towards Stol, Vajnež and Struška. The road quickly returns into the forest, through which we walk for few minutes, and then we get to ample pastures of Hruška planina. From here we continue on quite gentle road, on which with a view on Hruški vrh, we walk to the near shepherd hut on Hruška planina (also Hruščanska planina).
From the hut, we continue right past bigger watering place for animals and through larger pasture to the edge of the forest, where we short time still continue on a wide cart track. Immediately after the path goes into the forest, we leave the cart track and we continue the ascent on a well-beaten, but still unmarked path, which from the cart track branches off to the left. The path ahead starts ascending diagonally through the forest and it quickly brings us to bigger gully, which we cross and then on the other side of it we start ascending steeper. A little higher we step out of the forest and we turn a little to the right and we are then ascending over more and more panoramic grassy slopes. Higher, the footpath flattens and it brings us to the cottage Makotova bajta on Rožca.
