Ski hotel Vogel - Orlove glave

Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Lesce and follow the road towards Bled and forward towards Bohinjska Bistrica. We continue driving towards the lake Bohinj (Ribčev laz), where we come to a crossroad, where we continue straight on the left (south) side of the lake in the direction of Ukanc and waterfall Savica. We follow this road to the bottom station of the cable car on Vogel, then we buy a ticket and go with a cableway to the upper station, which is the starting point for our tour.

Path description:
From the upper station of the cable car on Vogel we continue right on the road which on the west side bypasses the mountain hut Merjasec. We continue in a gentle descent in the direction of Komna and Vogel, and wide macadam road brings us to a marked crossing. Here we continue left in the direction of four-seater chairlift Orlove glave (right downwards Komna, Vogel, Žagarjev graben and Ukanc), which road bypasses on the right side. From the bottom station of four-seater chairlift the path which ahead runs on a transport road, on a ski slope Vogel, starts ascending steeper. The road, by which we also notice some rare blazes, with increasingly beautiful views on Julian Alps, we follow to the upper station of an earlier mentioned four-seater chairlift. Here the path flattens and it brings us to the spot, where signs for a vantage point point us to the right into a lane of dwarf pines. We continue in the mentioned direction and after two minutes of a moderate ascent we get to the secondary peak of Orlove glave, in the middle of which stands bigger wooden cross.
If we want we can in a little less than 10 minutes ascend also on the nearby "main" peak of Orlove glave. We come there if we return to a ski slope, and from there we continue straight towards Visoki Orlov rob, Šija and Rodica. Only few meters before that, when the road starts descending, we continue sharply right on a steep rocky cart track, on which we quickly ascend to the summit.
