Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Lesce and follow the road towards Bled and forward towards Bohinjska Bistrica. We continue driving towards the lake Bohinj (Ribčev laz), where we come to a crossroad, where we continue straight on the left (south) side of the lake in the direction of Ukanc and waterfall Savica. We follow this road to the bottom station of the cable car on Vogel, then we buy a ticket and go with a cableway to the upper station, which is the starting point for our tour.
Path description:
From the upper station of the cable car on Vogel we continue right on the road which on the west side bypasses the mountain hut Merjasec. We continue in a gentle descent in the direction of Komna and Vogel, and wide macadam road brings us to a marked crossing. Here we continue left in the direction of four-seater chairlift Orlove glave (right downwards Komna, Vogel, Žagarjev graben and Ukanc), which road bypasses on the right side. From the bottom station of four-seater chairlift the path which ahead runs on a transport road, on a ski slope Vogel, starts ascending steeper. The road, by which we also notice some rare blazes, with increasingly beautiful views on Julian Alps, we follow to the upper station of an earlier mentioned four-seater chairlift. Here the path flattens and it brings us to a spot, where the path branches off to the right on a secondary peak of Orlove glave (peak with a cross), and we continue straight on a transport road which on the left side bypasses the main peak Orlove glave.
Further, the road descends a little and brings us on a poorly marked crossing, where we continue on the right road in the direction of Šija and Rodica. Ahead we are short time ascending on the road, and then it ends and it brings us to a marked mountain path, on which we continue the ascent. After a few minute moderate ascent, we get to a marked crossing, where the path branches off to the right towards Komna, and we continue slightly left, on the path which gradually passes on a ski slope. Here the path starts ascending steeper and with increasingly beautiful views quickly brings us to the upper station of one-seater chairlift Šija.
From the upper station, we continue slightly right and in few steps we ascend on an indistinct peak Visoki Orlov rob.
From here the path for some time descends a little and then starts moderately ascending and in few minutes brings us to a marked crossing. From the crossing, we continue straight in the direction of Šija (left Rodica, right Vogel) and we continue the ascent on the steep path, on which in 5 minutes of additional walking, we get to panoramic and a precipitous peak.
From Šija we continue on a beaten, but not marked path, which from the peak starts descending towards the west. The path at first descends over a steep slope, and then continues on the ridge, which is on some spots slightly exposed. After few minutes of crossing path slightly ascends and it quickly brings us on the top of Vrh Dlani.
