Skrilje - Source Skrivski izvir (Skrlanka)

Access to starting point:
A) We drive on the highway from Razdrto towards Nova Gorica and we go to the exit Ajdovščina. Then at the crossroad, we turn left in the direction of Nova Gorica and we drive on the main road through the village Cesta, after one kilometer we turn into Skrilje, and then we follow the signs for primary school, where there is a parking lot.
B) From the direction Nova Gorica we go to the exit Selo, after Dobravlje we turn on the second turn-off left into Skrilje.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we go on the road between the primary school and the church straight, and then we stick to the right. The path Skrlanka starts by the crossroad (150 meters west from the church), when from the asphalt a grassy cart track branches off, where there is the first sign of the path (wooden arrow with a blue letter "S"). After the initial flat part, we continue over a concrete bridge, where we turn right, and the path starts lightly ascending. We follow the footpath which is winding through the forest, and before we leave it, we get to the point, where the circular part of the path begins. We all the time follow the signs, which here point us on flat, and we soon turn left upwards and past arable lands we leave the main area of the village. After few minutes of the ascent, we pass to a crossroad of cart tracks, where an arrow points us to the right and immediately left upwards, towards the village Stomaž. The ascent is mostly gentle, with some flat parts, and the environment is diverse, from the forest, meadow, to arable lands. At the altitude of village Stomaž, which we notice on the right, on the path we are accompanied also by some interesting wooden buildings, and then begins a little steeper part, which runs mostly through the forest, with one larger meadow, after which follows only the last ascent, before the path from the cart track, branches off left - through a wooden fence and then on the left, by the former plot border. Right after this, we are at the source, where there is also an inscription book, from here the path crosses another stream and passes on a meadow, where a gentle descent begins. The footpath is here very comfortable, the environment is all the time diverse and mostly intact. By carefully following the signs, we will without problems getting closer to Skrilje, towards the end follows also a prominent footbridge over an occasionally dried up stream and a short ascent, on which we cross a macadam road and we continue on a meadow for the last time into the forest, towards the point, where the circular part of the path ends.
Last 500 meters we are returning on the same path as at the beginning. The path is appropriate for everyone, in all seasons, it can also be a nice starting point for ascents on Čaven, Mala gora or Kucelj.
