St. Ulrich / Šenturh - Aussicht Petelinz

Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Ljubelj (Tržič), and then we continue driving in the direction of Celovec / Klagenfurt. After the bridge over the river Drau the road starts ascending steeper, and on the main road towards Klagenfurt we drive only few kilometers, and then we turn right in the direction of Žihpolje / Maria Rain. Further, we drive on Göltschacher Straße, which at first leads through the settlement Žihpolje / Maria Rain. The mentioned settlement quickly ends, and the road brings us to the next village Št. Urh / St. Ulrich. Immediately after the mentioned village we will on the right side notice a smaller meadow and nearby a smaller chapel, where there is the beginning of the path towards the viewpoint Petelinz. At the starting point, there aren't any parking spots.

Path description:
From the end of the village, we go slightly right on a cart track which continues through a meadow, and it leads us on the right side of the nearby chapel. Behind the chapel, the path goes into the forest, through which it starts at first gently and then moderately ascending. Higher, the path turns a little to the right and for some time ascends a little steeper. After a short ascent, the path flattens and then in few 10 strides descends to a better beaten path which leads from the village Žihpolje / Maria Rain and from the village Resnica / Ressnig.
Here we continue left and in few minutes we ascend to the first viewpoint with a bench, but from there the view because of the nearby trees isn't anything special. From the first bench we continue in the direction of "Petelinz" and we start moderately to steeply descending towards the second better viewpoint with a bench, from which a nice view opens up towards river Drau, Borovlje and Karawanks.
