We continue on foot in the direction of center, and from there parallel with lake on Pilgergasse, Sternallee and Ried. After crossing of rack railway we follow street Ried about 100 meters, then we go right uphill. When we again get closer to railway we notice signs for Schafberg, which we follow all the way to the top.
Path description:
Asphalt road which runs through the forest, we follow to the farm Aschinger, where signs point us slightly to the left on a wide macadam path. This one as well runs through the forest, and view on neighbouring mountain is increasingly beautiful. We for some time leave the forest on the mountain pasture Dorneralm, and wide path then right before we exceed treeline passes into a footpath. On the mountain pasture Schafberg with a view on peak Schafberg we join the macadam road from Winkl / Mondsee. We follow the signs. The path after crossing a railway (midway station of railway) passes into a footpath which is relatively steeply ascending at first to final station of railway, then also to the mountain hut and the peak.
