From Knin we drive towards Sinj, but only to a crossroad, where the road branches off to the left towards the village Strmica. We follow this road approximately 1.6km to Sveti Guge, where we notice signs for Dinara. From this road after a little less than 100 meters we turn sharply right (direction Dinara) on a bad macadam road which we follow approximately 10km to the parking lot at Suho polje.
Path description:
From the parking lot, we go on a wide rocky cart track in the direction of the mountain hut Brezovac and the peak Sinjal. The path after the initial few steps of a descent starts slightly ascending on a slightly vegetated slopes of Suho polje. After approximately half an hour of walking, we come to a crossing, where we continue right in the direction of the mountain hut Brezovac. From the crossing, we continue the ascent on a worse macadam road which with some ascents and descents, we follow to the mountain hut Brezovac. The path to the hut leads us on panoramic meadows, where we can in spring and summer months observe lush flowers.
From the mountain hut, which is situated at the beginning of forest we continue the ascent in the direction of the peak Sinjal. The path ahead runs on a wide gentle cart track which is moderately ascending through the forest. After a half an hour of walking from the mountain hut, we come out of the forest on panoramic slopes from which a view opens up on slopes of Dinara. We continue ascending on a gradually worse cart track, from which soon a marked path branches off to the right towards the summit of Dinara. The path which ahead runs through extensive meadows starts ascending steeper and steeper. When we come to big rock on which there is a big blaze, the steepness decreases and the path turns a little to the right. After a shorter traversing, we come into a lane of a forest, where from the right side joins the path from Krkič. We continue in the direction of the peak on the path which is diagonally ascending on a more and more rocky slope. And already a pretty steep path then finally brings us on the upper ridge of Dinara. Here the path turns right and in a gentle ascent circles the sinkhole, which is preventing direct ascent to the summit. After few minutes of walking on a wide panoramic ridge we reach the peak of Dinara.
