Sveta Katarina (Zgornja Kapla) - Sršenov vrh

Access to starting point:
A) From the road Maribor - Dravograd we drive almost to the settlement Ožbalt (from the direction Dravograd a little after the settlement). Few 100 meters before (from the direction Dravograd after the settlement) the mentioned settlement to the right (from the direction Dravograd left) a road branches off towards Gradišče and Kapla, and then at the crossroads we go towards Kapla. On the road, we drive to the settlement Zgornja Kapla, where in the center of the settlement, below the church of St. Katarina Aleksandrijska we park on a parking lot at the cemetery. From the main road to the starting point, there is a little less than 15 km.
B) From the road Dravograd - Maribor we drive to the settlement Ožbalt, where at the parish church we turn left (from the direction Maribor right) on a side road which continues by the succursal primary school and then it is ascending by the stream Ožbaltski potok. Higher at the crossroads we go in the direction of Kapla, and we drive to the center of the settlement Zgornja Kapla, where below the church of St. Katarina Aleksandrijska we park on a parking lot at the cemetery. From the main road to the starting point, there is a little less than 8 km.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we walk to red mountain signposts, and from there we go left in the direction of Sršenov vrh and through a meadow we ascend to the edge of the forest, from where when we look back a nice view opens up.
We continue straight on a marked path, which goes into the forest, and through the forest, we are ascending few minutes, and then we continue the ascent by the edge of the forest. A little further, we cross the asphalt road and we return into the forest, through which we continue a moderate ascent. After few minutes, we return on the asphalt road and we follow it to the right, and there we go past the homestead Pokržnik, and after the homestead on the left (eastern) side we cross also Pokržnikov vrh, from where a view opens up towards the transmitters on Sršenov vrh. Next follows some easy descent and on the right side a nice view opens up, which reaches to Koroška two-thousanders, and in good visibility we can see even further.
On the mentioned panoramic part, the path stops descending and then it lightly ascends to the forest, where signs for Sršenov vrh point us to the left in the forest. Next follows a shorter steeper ascent through a quite dense forest, and higher we reach a cart track and we follow it to the right. The cart track quickly brings us to the next asphalt road which we cross diagonally towards the right, and then we go slightly left into the forest, through which we continue on a marked path. A little higher, at the smaller crossroad we reach another road, and we go left on the upper road, and from there we go after few steps right. Follows only a shorter moderate ascent and we get to transmitters on Sršenov vrh.
