Access to starting point:
We drive into the center of Slovenska Bistrica, where at the traffic-light-controlled intersection we turn in the direction of the health home and continue along Partizanska cesta. This is followed by driving through the town, where we continue straight ahead; on the edge of the town at the industrial zone, we head onto the road towards Tinje, Holy Three Kings, and Črno jezero lake. This is followed by an ascent on a somewhat narrower asphalt road, which begins to climb and initially leads past Lovska koča pizzeria Gams; higher up, we also go through the settlement Visole, and a few kilometers higher we arrive at Zgornje Tinje, from where we follow the signs for the ski area Jakec - Trije kralji. We park in the parking lot at the foot of the ski slope, or near the church of the Holy Three Kings.
Path description:
From the starting point, we walk to the church of the Holy Three Kings and continue in the direction of Črno jezero lake and Urškina pot path, quickly arriving at the nearby ski slope, along which we continue briefly before crossing it (during ski slope operation, we cross the ski run and lift higher - above the cable and ski slope). The path ahead leads past the ARSO weather station, and we continue to follow the blazes; along the connecting ski run, we reach another ski run in a few minutes, which we also cross (uphill from the ski slope: Veliki vrh). This is followed by crossing a lift and another ski run, after which the path enters the forest, where after a few minutes of further walking we arrive at a cross by which stands the educational sign for Urškina pot. The path ahead descends slowly, bringing us to a marked junction, where we continue straight towards Šumik waterfall and Ruše (left: Črno jezero and Osankarica).
We continue along a gently sloping path through the forest, which takes us across Peščena raven; beyond the indistinct summit Trije studenci, the path begins to descend gradually. A little lower, the forest thins out; the path, which temporarily levels off, has several junctions where we follow the blazes. After a short gentle ascent, we begin descending again and lower down reach a macadam road leading from Areh towards Osankarica, which we merely cross, continuing the descent to the next road, which we follow to the left (right: Ruška koča na Arehu); along it, we soon arrive at the starting point Bajgot na Šumiku, where one of the paths to Ruše branches off to the right downhill (Holcarska pot along Lobnica valley).
From here, we continue a few steps along the road, then turn right onto the marked path towards Pesek and Klopni vrh, which leads us across a small bridge over Lobnica. This is followed by a short ascent, and we return to a macadam road, where a somewhat shorter but unmarked path towards the Šumik estate continues along the road; we cross the road and continue the ascent along the marked path. A little farther on, we leave the forest, then ascend a slightly vegetated slope to a macadam road at a marked junction.
We continue right in the direction of Gozdarski dom na Šumiku (left: Pohorje Battalion camp, Tiho jezero lake, and Koča na Pesku; straight uphill: Koča na Klopnem vrhu and Koča na Pesku) and proceed along the macadam road. At the nearby intersection, we go straight (sharply left: Koča na Klopnem vrhu); we continue along the road only briefly, as the signs for the hut direct us right downhill (straight along the road: Ruše). After a short descent, we return to the road and notice Koča na Šumiku ahead, which is one minute's walk away.
