We leave Gorenjska highway at exit Hrušica and follow the road ahead in the direction of Kranjska Gora. Just a little before the village Dovje the road which goes to Mojstrana (Vrata, Kot and Krma) branches off to the left. We follow the road ahead in the direction of village Radovna and the valleys Krma and Kot. The relatively steep road then runs past the TNP sign, behind which the road soon flattens and it brings us to a crossroad, where a macadam road into a valley Kot branches off to the right (straight Radovna and Krma). This occasionally a bit rough road, we then follow to the parking lot, where we also notice mountain signposts.
Path description:
From the starting point, we continue on a rough road which after few minutes brings us to a turning point (parking is not desirable here). The path ahead turns slightly to the left and crosses a torrent. On the other side of the torrent we are for quite some time gently ascending through the forest. After a half hour walk the path starts ascending. Next follows few ten strides of walking on the steep path, where iron spikes help us, which in dry aren't necessary. The steepness then decreases and the path brings us to a well (in dry period dries up) at an altitude 1340m. Here unmarked path on Macesnovec branches off to the left, and we continue on a marked path, which crosses a torrent. Next follows a short crossing of the steep part, where there is a steel cable for help (undemanding). After that, the path crosses a lane of dwarf pines and higher ascends on more rocky slopes, where in front of us we see Debeli kamen (large boulder, which we see on the top of the slope). To Debeli kamen (thick stone) we ascend on a gravel path surrounded with dwarf pines. Further path ascends by smaller scree upwards and a little higher turns more to the right, where brings us to a crossing, on which we go right following the signs Visoka Vrbanova špica (left Staničev dom). Already after few meters the path turns again to the right and then with the help of some steel cables and stemples we cross steep rocky slopes below Vrbanove špice. Then we turn to the left and we in a gentle ascent cross still pretty steep slopes. Soon and then we again turn left and with the help of some fixed safety gear we start steeply ascending on a slope partly covered with grass and dwarf pines. After that, the path turns slightly to the right and it brings us to the ridge, where a view opens up on Cmir. Here we turn to the left and with the help of stemples and steel cables start ascending on a steep and narrow ridge, which soon brings us to a crossroad. At the crossroad, we go left and with the help of few stemples and iron spikes we reach the peak of Spodnja Vrbanova Špica. The peak also has a stamp and inscription book.
From the top, we then return back to a crossing where we follow the signs Staničev dom. The path then in a gentle descent bypasses the peak Spodnja Vrbanova špica on the north side and on quite wide ledge brings us again to the ridge. From here we have only few meters to Plesišče (2244 meters) over which otherwise doesn't run marked path, but is well marked with cairns. Plesišče is large flat plate from which is a breathtaking view on Spodnja and Visoka Vrbanova špica, Rjavina and Cmir. Plesišče is interesting also because in the middle of narrow and precipitous ridge of Vrbanove špice no one expects so large flat plate.
After that, the path runs on the ridge and at first slightly ascends and then with the help of steel cables and iron spikes descends to a smaller natural window through which is nicely visible Cmir. From here we then with the help of stemples ascend over slightly overhang chimney, which is followed by descent, which is on the shorter part also slightly overhung. Then we are ascending on a steep rocks, which through well-secured narrow and exposed ledges brings us to another window. Here we again start ascending on this time a little more stemples. Next follows an ascent with the help of steel cables on rugged rocks to a grassy slope below the summit. From here we have to the top only few minutes of easy walking.
