Turjak - Tabor Cerovo

Access to starting point:
From Ljubljana, we drive towards Kočevje or vice versa, and we follow the road to the settlement Turjak. When we get to Turjak we continue right (from the direction Kočevje left) and then we park on a large parking lot by cooperative home (Zadružni dom).

Path description:
From the parking lot, we walk to the main road and on the pedestrian crossing we carefully cross it, and on the other side, we go on the road towards Gradež and Grosuplje. At first, we are ascending on a sidewalk, from which a nice view opens up towards Gora, where there is the church of St. Ahac. When the settlement Turjak ends, for few 10 meters the sidewalk ends, and when we reach the settlement Gradež we again continue on a sidewalk.
On sidewalk we continue to a smaller saddle, where the sidewalk ends, and we still continue along the marked asphalt road. Next follows some descent, and then we reach municipality Grosuplje, where the path in few shorter ascents and descents leads through the settlement Škocjan and Velike Lipljene.
In the settlement Velike Lipljene signs for cave Županova jama and Tabor nad Cerovim point us slightly right on a side road which after the settlement passes into the forest and it brings us to a crossroad near the cave Županova jama.
Here we go sharply right and we quickly get to cave Županova jama, which is situated a little behind the tourist buildings.
From the cave we return to the parking lot and we go on the macadam road which continues through the forest. The road at first continues without large changes in altitude, and after a shorter descent it starts moderately ascending. Higher from the road to the right, a marked path branches off, on which in few minutes we ascend to the wall Tabor Cerovo, where there is an inscription box in the shape of miniature Aljaž turret.
