Access to starting point:
From Ljubljana, we drive towards Kočevje or vice versa, and we follow the road to the settlement Turjak. When we get to Turjak we continue right (from the direction of Kočevje left) and then we park on a larger parking lot by the cooperative home (Zadružni dom).
Path description:
From the parking lot, we walk to the main road and carefully cross it on the pedestrian crossing, and on the other side, we head towards the road to Gradež and Grosuplje. At first, we ascend on the sidewalk, from which a nice view opens up towards Gora, where there is the church of St. Ahac. When the settlement Turjak ends, the sidewalk ends for a few tens of meters, and when we reach the settlement Gradež we again continue on the sidewalk.
On the sidewalk we continue to a smaller saddle, where the sidewalk ends, and we still continue along the marked asphalt road. Next follows some descent, and then we reach the municipality of Grosuplje, where the path in a few shorter ascents and descents leads through the settlements Škocjan and Velike Lipljene.
In the settlement Velike Lipljene signs for Županova jama cave and Tabor nad Cerovim direct us slightly right onto a side road, which after the settlement turns into the forest and brings us to a crossroads near Županova jama.
Here we go sharply right and quickly arrive at Županova jama, which is located a little behind the tourist facilities.
