From highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Lesce and follow the road towards Bled, Bohinjska Bistrica, Ribčev Laz and ski slope Vogel. We park on a large settled parking lot at the bottom station of the cableway on Vogel.
Path description:
Below bottom station of the cableway on Vogel we notice a forest road (in the winter time ski track), which starts moderately ascending towards the west. The path ahead is for some time gently to moderately ascending, and then it brings us out of the forest on a panoramic slope, from where a beautiful view opens up on Komarča, Pršivec and Lake Bohinj.
After that the road starts turning more and more to the left and is becoming steeper and steeper. Higher, we continue on a relatively steep ski track, on which all the time leads worse and gravel transport road. After a time the road or ski track for some time flattens, and then it again steeply ascends and it brings us to a marked crossing, where we continue left in the direction of Ski hotel on Vogel (straight bottom station of two-seater chairlift Zadnji Vogel).
Only a little further, we get to the next crossing, where we continue right towards the mountain pasture Zadnji Vogel (slightly left Ski hotel on Vogel and mountain hut Planinska koča Merjasec). On ski track we walk a little less than 10 minutes and the path brings us to cheese cottage on the mountain pasture Zadnji Vogel.
From the mountain pasture Zadnji Vogel we continue slightly right in the direction of Komna and Vogel, and the path towards Komna we follow only few 10 meters, after that caption on rock for Vogel, points us left on a moderately ascending path. The path ahead is ascending through a lane of dwarf pines, and then descends in pleasant grassy valley. Next follows a gentle ascent on the mentioned small valley, and then the path starts moderately ascending. A little higher we get to a marked crossing, where it says left saddle Šija, right Vogel. Here we continue left or right, because both paths after few minutes again join. From the spot, when both paths join, only a short ascent follows and the path brings us to the next crossing.
Here we continue left in the direction of Šija (straight Vogel, right Komna) on the path which crosses slopes towards the left. After 5 minutes of additional walking, we get to the next crossing, where we continue right upwards in the direction of saddle Šija (straight Ski hotel Vogel). Here the path steeply ascends on a smaller and relatively steep small valley, through which leads us a crumbly gravel path. Higher stones are replaced by grass, and an increasingly panoramic path brings us to the main ridge of Spodnje Bohinjske gore, where we continue left (right Vogel). The path ahead at first ascends on the ridge, after that quickly turns slightly left, where it ascends diagonally over more steep slopes of Vrh Dlani. Higher, the path flattens and turns a little to the right.
The path ahead leads us past a smaller sinkhole, which we bypass on the left side, and then we for some time cross slopes of Vrh Dlani and later Šija towards the east. When the crossing ends, we get to a marked crossing, where we continue right upwards in the direction of Šija (left downwards Ski hotel Vogel, straight Rodica). We continue the ascent on the steep path, on which in 5 minutes of additional walking, we get to panoramic and precipitous peak.
