Access to starting point:
From Dravograd over the border crossing Vič we drive to St. Andre. We follow the road ahead to town Wolfsberg, where signs for Koralpe point us to the right. Further, we drive through St. Stefan, Maildorf and Rieding to a large parking lot at the ski center Koralpe.
Path description:
At the end of the parking lot signs for Koralpenhaus point us on a footpath which ascends on the left edge of ski track (while the ski slope operates the passage is forbidden). A moderately steep path after few minutes of ascent brings us to an unmarked crossing, where we continue on the left gentle track. The path which then for some time runs on a ski track, higher brings us on an asphalt road. Here we continue the ascent right on an ascending road which with increasingly beautiful views quickly brings us to the mountain hut.
From Koralpenhaus we continue on the road which after two sharp turns soon brings us to two radar stations on the top. The path bypasses the radars on the right side, and then the road ends. Next follows only few steps of ascent to a cross, which we see on the left side.
From the top, we continue on a path which starts slightly descending and after few minutes brings us on a small indistinct saddle, where there is a crossing. We continue left downwards and after few minutes of diagonal descent on our right we notice a smaller hill on which we notice a cross. On most appropriate spot we leave the marked path and on easier pathless terrain in two minutes we ascend to the summit Seespitze.
