Access to starting point:
A) We drive to Črna na Koroškem, and then we follow the signs for Koprivna. On turn-offs, where roads branch off towards Podpeca, Topla, Logarska dolina, and at the next crossroads we follow the signs for Olševa. Higher asphalt finally ends, and we continue the ascent on the forest road which we follow to signposts on Zadnji travnik, where we park.
B) We drive to Solčava, and then we follow the signs for Črna na Koroškem. Next follows an ascent to mountain pass Spodnje Sleme, and from there descent towards Črna na Koroškem and Koprivna. When we get into a valley, to a crossroad with the road which leads from Koprivna towards Črna na Koroškem, we continue left, and at the next crossroads we follow the signs for Olševa. Higher asphalt finally ends, and we continue the ascent on the forest road which we follow to signposts on Zadnji travnik, where we park.
Path description:
From the starting point signs for Olševa point us on a gently sloping cart track, on which we walk few minutes, and then blazes point us on a footpath which ascends through the forest. Higher, we return on a cart track, and at the crossings we follow the blazes. When the cart track turns a little to the right, blazes point us slightly to the left, on the path which starts ascending steeper through the forest. Next follows few minutes of ascent through the forest and then we reach hunting bivouac Foršnerca, where we leave the marked path.
Right from the cottage we notice a beaten footpath which for a short time continues quite gently, and then it brings us below the cliffs, where the footpath turns right and crosses smaller scree. After the scree path returns into the forest, and it is still ascending diagonally towards the right. During the crossing we cross also two overgrown torrents, and then the path splits.
Hunting path continues straight, and we continue left on a poorly beaten, but at first still mostly followable footpath which starts ascending through the forest. Higher the footpath starts vanishing, but we soon step out of the forest, where we notice a hunting observatory. We ascend to the observatory, and then we continue a diagonal ascent towards the right. A worse footpath through abandoned pasture leads diagonally towards the right, where the footpath again becomes easy to follow. Higher, we pass into a lane of dwarf pines, where the footpath turns right again, and then on occasionally overgrown path we ascend on the ridge of Olševa, where we join the marked path Sveti Duh - Olševa.
We follow the path to the left, and in few minutes of panoramic walking we get to the top of Govca, the highest peak of Olševa.
