Access to starting point:
First, we drive to Škofja Loka, and then we continue driving towards Železniki and forward towards Zali Log. Immediately after the sign Zali Log we continue right and then we park by the sports field of sports club Senca Zali Log.
Path description:
From the parking lot at the sports field we continue on the road which past NOB monument and church of Holy Mary brings us to a stream Pruharca, by which we are then ascending. Higher, the road ends, and marked path turns right uphill, where it starts ascending on a panoramic grassy slope. Well settled path then passes into the forest, and at first, it leads past old military bunkers. A relatively steep path higher crosses a wide cart track and is then still steeply ascending through the forest. Well settled path, by which on every 100 altitude meters we notice wooden sign with altitude, higher brings us to Žagarjev hlev v Grobljah, in which is an inscription box.
Above Žagarjev hlev path passes on an indistinct ridge, which already after few minutes avoids to the right, where for a short time ascends a little steeper. When higher we again step on the ridge path flattens and gradually passes on a wide cart track, and it avoids the ridge on shady slopes. Further, the path brings us on a small saddle, where we also step on a macadam road. We follow the road to the right, and past the quarry and through a lane of a forest it brings us to a crossing on the saddle Po(v)den.
On the saddle, we continue straight (left Torka, right Prtovč) in the direction of Ratitovec, on at first gently sloping path, which ascends through a lane of raspberry bushes, and then passes into the forest, where it starts ascending steeper. The path higher flattens and it brings us to rough forest road which we follow only few 10 meters and then blazes point us to the right on an increasingly steep footpath. The path soon passes out of the forest and brings us on steep grassy slopes (in snow great risk of slipping and avalanche), on which we are ascending towards the right. Higher, the path past rocky towers brings us on the main ridge, where it turns sharply to the left and entirely flattens. Next follows easy and a pleasant path, on which in 10 minutes of additional walking on a panoramic slope, we ascend to the mountain hut Krekova koča na Ratitovcu.
From the mountain hut, we continue straight on a little steeper path in the direction of Gladki vrh. This increasingly panoramic path, we then follow all the way to Gladki vrh, and we reach it after 5 minutes of additional walking.
