Description of mountain:
Ajdovski gradec is a smaller hill on the east part of Bohinjska Bistrica, which is ascending right above the river Sava Bohinjka. Access is possible from Bohinjska Bistrica and village Bitenj.
The peak is partly covered with a forest, view is opening up only on a mountain chain Spodnje Bohinjske gore from Črna prst towards the west, on Dobrava and on part of Bohinjska Bistrica, in which we notice the church of St. Nikolaj.
On the summit, there are benches with a table, information board about archaeological sites from iron Age and Roman times and plates with verses of France Prešern (Ajdovski gradec is mentioned in epic lyrical poem Krst pri Savici.
Because of lush vegetation visiting is most recommended in the spring and late autumn.
