Lopatnik

Description of mountain:
Lopatnik is easily accessible two-thousander above the mountain pasture Zapleč. Its peak in the shape of a diadem is rising between saddle Vrata and ridge of Krnčica. The peak is without an inscription box and a stamp. From it beautiful views opening up on a larger part of Julian Alps and further. On the summit, there are a lot of remains from the 1st world war, which at every step reminds on hard times, which soldiers had here.
The peak is often already in the morning veiled in fog and clouds, which are running around Krn. In hot summer days, it is good to choose for the ascent early morning hours, because south slopes, on which the path is winding, is all day exposed to the sun.
