Description of mountain pasture:
On plateau Mežakla, which belongs in Julian Alps, there is situated quite a lot of typical alpine mountain pastures. Two of those, which are because of access with a car better known, are mountain pastures Oblek and Ravne. The first is situated northern, second south from the forest road which on Mežakla comes from the direction Gorje. Both are still more or less active, every year some livestock is grazing there. Years ago on Ravne used to stand a shepherd hut, which because of lightning burned to the ground. Here, where before the second world war stood village "kraljeva vas" - holiday residence, or Andrejevo selo with 18 individual buildings (during the war were all buildings ruined), was after war forestry settlement, and some holiday cottages were also built, e.g.. cottage of university Univerza v Ljubljani. Today on and by mountain pasture Ravne we run into forestry cottage and renovated holiday cottage, mentioned cottage of university, two abandoned holiday cottages, monument from second world war, ruins of burnt shepherd hut, and some holiday cottages, which are more frequent on neighbouring mountain pasture Oblek. From scenic, ample and peaceful mountain pasture Ravne offers also a nice view towards the part of Julian Alps from Kukova špica towards Škrlatica, and on neighbouring plateau Pokljuka.
