Description of mountain:
Velika Boncla is a 1241 meters high, partly rocky peak, which is situated between Javorniški Rovt and mountain pasture Stamare in Karawanks. From the steep south slope a little below its peak a nice view opens up in the direction towards Slovenski Javornik and Kočna, part of Gorje and towards Blejski kot. A view from here reaches also to the ridge of Bohinj mountains, Ratitovec, Jelovica and Pokljuka, and towards the west on Julian Alps with Triglav and Škrlatica. And north above us, there is rising Struška with Belska planina on the left.
Velika Boncla, together with Mala Boncla in some older maps appears under the name Bavha, which in folk jargon supposed to mean white cow.
