Veliki Rog

Description of mountain:
Veliki Rog is situated in the middle of endless forests of karst plateau Kočevki Rog and with its 1099 meters of altitude, it is the highest peak. The peak is otherwise vegetated but there stands a lookout tower, which in good weather offers a view on the entire Slovenia. On the top there is also a box with an inscription book and a stamp. Below the very top of Veliki Rog there are remains of Auersperg sawmill, abandoned before the 2nd world war. In the nearby surrounding we can find also the other attraction: partisan hospitals (Baza 20, Jelendol), fir tree Črmošnjiška jelka, ice cave on Kunč, abysses of post-war killings.
