Kočna - Boršt (via Vrše)

Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Lipce, where we turn left in the direction of Blejska Dobrava and Spodnje Gorje. Soon when we drive past the railway underpass, we are at the next crossroad, where we turn right - Bled, Kočna. At first, a zig-zag road ascends straight towards the west and soon at the left turn reaches the top or settlement Kočna. Our starting point is located on the left side of the road, few meters before the settlement sign. Beacause of continuous line we drive ahead past first houses, where on the right we notice a bus stop. Here we turn around and return back, almost to the turn, where we would descend back into a valley. We stop on a macadam parking lot.

Path description:
From the starting point, we go back on the road towards the settlement. After 250 meters, few meters before the bus stop on the right we go on a narrower side asphalt road on our left, which takes us past few houses uphill. When after the left turn road flattens and loses an asphalt pavement, it brings us on a larger meadow. We continue on a cart track which at first sticks slightly to the left and by the edge of the forest ascends a little past the pasture on the right. Quite soon we find ourselves on the saddle between two peaks - Žerjavec and Vrše, where there is a crossing. Here we go sharply right, namely on first (at first gravel) path, which ascends uphill (second is gentle path on Blejska Dobrava). After a short ascent, we run into a bench, and we continue on this path, which then narrows and ascends a little steeper towards the summit Vrše. After this when the path turns left and the steepness decreases, we can enjoy a view on Koroška Bela and Javorniški Rovt. In short we step in mixed forest, through which path after shorter and gentle ascent brings us to the summit of 850 meters high hill Vrše, where straight (towards the south) in front of our eyes shows up its neighbor, our destination peak - Boršt. So we continue ahead on the path which descends on a grassy slope. When the path in short turns right downwards towards the northwest, we leave it, and we continue straight, slightly uphill (we ignore path in the forest on the left), where we notice a footpath which in few steps it brings us into the forest. Soon at first relatively easy to follow path turns slightly left, and after this it almost vanishes, so we have to pay attention to signs (red črte) on the trees. After this, when the path by few steps only slightly descends, at the second sign it turns sharply right, and after shorter gentle part (again easier to follow) descends on a forested slope. Next follows only a light ascent, after which the path which turns a little to the left brings us to the forest cart track. When we get there, we go left uphill towards the southeast. A little before a cart track supposed to bring us out of the forest on beginning of large clearing, we leave it and go sharply right on other (cart track), which is steeply ascending on the eastern slope of Boršt towards its summit. Here we will maybe on the trunk of one of spruces notice "Notification" for hikers. Further during steep ascending we stick to the right side in notification mentioned "marked direction", which means, that we don't walk all the time on a cart track, but occasionally on the route on its right, which is all the way to the top beaten (to the destination we can get also on a cart track). Because the peak Boršt doesn't offer much of a view into a valley, we can enjoy it on the east slope, few meters lower. Here we will be able to see all from Pusti rovt on the left, over Karawanks and part of Kamnik Alps, and wide Ljubljana basin, to slopes of Jelovica on the right.
