Rateče - Bivak brez meja / Bivacco Senza Confini (east path)

Access to starting point:
First, we drive to Kranjska Gora, then continue driving towards Rateče. At the crossroads, where the road to Planica branches off to the left, and straight ahead it continues towards Italy, we turn right and drive to the center of Rateče, where we park at a suitable place.

Path description:
From the center of Rateče we follow the signs for the footpath to Tromeja. At first, we walk on the road that leads through the settlement, at the crossroads we follow the signs for Tromeja. We leave the road by the information board Rateče, where the signs for the footpath to Tromeja direct us to the right (straight Tromeja via the western path (the mentioned path on the Slovenian side is not marked)).
The path ahead immediately enters the forest, through which we ascend on a fairly steep cart track. Higher up, we reach the macadam road, which we follow to the right. After about 15 minutes the road reaches right up to the border with Italy, and we first ascend along it by the edge of a panoramic meadow, then through the forest to the branch-off to the former Dom na Tromeji. At the mentioned crossroads, we continue on the left upper road, which we follow to the start of the sharp right bend, where the road crosses a stream, and straight ahead the footpath to Tromeja continues.
Just before the mentioned junction we continue left onto the cart track, which immediately enters Italy (the branch-off is not marked). On the cart track, after just a few steps, we notice the Italian markers, which quite frequently guide us all the way to the bivouac about 15 minutes away, which we reach without major orientation problems.
