Bistriški jarek (Glasbeni dom) - St. Lorenzen ob Eibiswald

Access to starting point:
A) We drive to Dravograd, and then we continue driving towards Maribor. After the road sign 8.0 km we need to pay attention, because we will a little behind the bus stop and a pedestrian crossing, turn left in a settlement Gortina (turn off from the main road isn't marked). Immediately, when we leave the main road we get to the settlement Gortina, and then we drive in the direction of Muta, we turn left at the marked crossroad, where we notice signs for Bistriški jarek. The road then quickly brings us in Bistriški jarek, through which we are gently ascending. We park by the former POŠ Branik, today Glasbeni dom, that is the caption on the building, otherwise the building is used for various activities.
B) First, we drive to Maribor, and then we follow the signs for Dravograd. When we already cross the river Mučka Bistrica, a little after the store Tuš we drive right in the direction of the settlement Muta 1. The path ahead brings us in Muta, where on a crossroads we follow priority road, from a little bigger crossroad we go left, so that we are further driving towards Gortina. A little after the settlement Muta ends, from marked crossroad we drive right in the direction of Bistriški jarek. The road then quickly brings us in Bistriški jarek, through which we are gently ascending. We park by the former POŠ Branik, today Glasbeni dom, that is the caption on the building, otherwise the building is used for various activities.

Path description:
From the marked parking lot, we continue on the asphalt road which behind the sports field quickly brings us to a marked crossing by the ecological chapel.
We continue right towards the Sedelnik waterfall (left Pernice), where the path at first brings us to the chapel, and behind it, over a small bridge we cross the river Mučka Bistrica. On the other side of the river, the path goes into the forest and it is ascending by the stream. After few minutes, the path splits, and we continue right in the direction towards Sveti Jernej (straight Sedelnik waterfall 2 minutes).
The path ahead steeply ascends and there are also few fixed safety gear for help. When fixed safety gear end, we get above the waterfall, and blazes for some time end. From the crossing above the waterfall we go right, and then still before the end of an old cart track left on a steep footpath, on which we quickly ascend to a cart track, where blazes show up again. Further cart track has few crossings, where we carefully follow the blazes, and when we step out of the forest, we continue straight and above the nearby homestead we reach the macadam road, where we continue left towards Sveti Jernej. Macadam road then leads us also past the homestead Vitdoner, where they sell homemade honey, and above the mentioned homestead we reach a wider road which we follow sharply to the left. The path ahead at first leads with nice views, and then passes into the forest, where blazes point us sharply right, on a side road on which we get to homestead Ladinek. At the homestead signs point us to the left on short overgrown part, and then we return on a cart track, and in a moderate ascent it brings us back on a wider macadam road. The road leads us past the turn-off towards the hunting cottage and past the chapel, and after the chapel we go slightly left on a cart track. Next follows a short ascent through the forest and then we get by the edge of an ample fenced pasture, where cattle is grazing. Few minutes, with increasingly beautiful views we continue by the fence, and then we get closer to the nearby houses. We continue in the same direction, meanwhile we cross few side grazing fences, and then we get to a marked crossroad.
We continue right (left church of St. Jernej 5 minutes) and in few steps we get to homestead Primož, where by the mighty linden tree there are inscription box and a stamp.
At the linden tree is also a marked crossing, and we continue slightly left in the direction towards Bricnik and Sveti Lovrenc (slightly right Sveti Primož). Behind the homestead Primož we short time continue on the macadam road, and then we go slightly left on a footpath which continues through an ample panoramic meadow. The path ahead leads us also past the chapel and hunting observatory, and then it turns left and passes into the forest. Through the forest, we at first start moderately descending, and when signs point us to the right, on a worse cart track, we also start descending a little more. Lower, we reach stream Vud, by which we for some time continue, and then we cross it and we ascend to the nearby crossing, by which there is a wooden religious symbol.
From the crossing, we continue sharply left in the direction towards Sveti Lovrenc (slightly right Bricnik). Only a little further from the crossing we cross the national border, and few 10 strides ahead we reach the road which we follow upwards. From the road soon Austrian path branches off sharply to the left to the church of St. Jernej, and we continue past houses and chapel to the next marked crossing. We continue slightly right and on the asphalt road we walk to the settlement Sveti Lovrenc / St. Lorenzen, where there is a church of St. Lovrenc and a little below it also church of St. Lenart.
