Celje - Miklavžev hrib (Miklavški hrib) (by road)

Access to starting point:
Celje, the third largest Slovenian town accessible from several sides. You park somewhere between the railway station and the bridge through river Savinja in the direction of Laško. The problem could be, because the parking lots are mainly payable... if you come by train, these problems fall away.

Path description:
From the center of Celje at the railway station we go in the direction of Laško, where immediately after the roundabout we cross a bridge over the river Savinja. Immediately behind the bridge we turn right on the asphalt road and after good hundred meters at the monastery we turn left on the road with the same grounding uphill and this is also the beginning of the marked mountain path. After a good two hundred meters, a marked mountain path turns left and we continue on the road upwards. We easily follow the road and further we turn left twice. Both crossroads are very well marked with signposts. We soon reach the peak of Miklavški hrib, there are some houses and holiday cottages below the very top, while on the top there is the church of St. Miklavž which is visible from far around.
