Access to starting point:
The starting point we reach on local roads, which branch off from the highway exit Videm / Udine (Sud or Nord – in both cases we follow signposts for Spilimbergo and Maniago). After Maniago signposts point us into a mountain valley Val Cellina, we drive through tourist settlement Barcis by the eponymous lake, we continue driving all the way to a hamlet Cellino di Sopra. Right before it, we turn on a macadam road, by which after a little less than kilometer we park on an unmarked parking lot.
Path description:
From the parking lot, we continue on the road which in a wide turn crosses mountain stream Chialedina, whereupon it becomes a little steeper, on steeper parts asphalted. After a little less than an hour, we get to the first turn-off, where we continue straight on the road, left continues the path number 969 towards the notch Forcella Giaveit or towards Monte Provagna (1696m). In the next half an hour, we get to the mountain pasture Casera Gravuzza, where the road ends (to here it is possible also to drive). To the right leads the path 902 ahead towards the notch Frugna, and our goes left into a gable of the valley. When passing out of the forest, the path becomes more strenuous, leads through a wide torrential riverbed and next to it to moraine. From there we descend into a gully and through it on demanding steep terrain below the rocky overhang, visible already from far, again in the forest. A little higher, the path becomes less noticeable, we need to follow the blazes; on this spot there is a cairn. Our path goes to the left still through the forest, and the unmarked, better visible footpath leads ahead below the mountain walls of Cima Lastei. The path then soon leads with the help of shorter steel cables over rocks on extensive steep slopes of narrow ledges and high grass. The path which is here hard to follow, mostly sticks to the edge of a grassy slope. Orientation isn't demanding anymore, the steepness decreases a little higher, when we step into a terrain below the upper foot of Cima Lastei, the side secondary peak of the mountain Col Nudo, and the path quickly brings us to mountain pass Passo di Valbona. From the mountain pass, we continue on the western edge of a wide grassy slope of Cima Lastei, a short rocky jump the path avoids to the right, whereupon it again passes on the edge, on which we get to the top of Cima Lastei. The path then descends towards the connective rocky ridge, for a short time descends on its south side and then through a narrow notch (demanding) again brings us on a narrower ridge (very exposed). To the top follows undemanding section of the path on a gravel slope.
On the way: Casera Gravuzza (984m), Passo di Valbona (2130m), Cima Lastei (2439m)
