Access to starting point:
A) From highway Ljubljana - Maribor we go to the exit Žalec, and then we continue driving in the direction Velenje. In the main roundabout in Velenje we continue right (direction Dravograd and Slovenj Gradec), and then we follow the main road to Mislinja and a little further to the spot, where a road towards the village Dovže branches off to the right. We park on an appropriate place by the crossroad.
B) From Koroška at first we drive in Slovenj Gradec, and then we continue driving towards Velenje. A little after Turiška vas, we will get to a crossroad, where the road in the village Dovže branches off to the left. Here we continue left and then after few meters we park on an appropriate place by the crossroad.
Path description:
At the starting point, we notice signs for mountain hut Grmovškov dom, which point us on an asphalt road, on which in few minutes we walk to Spodnje and then also to Zgornje Dovže. From the church of St. Ulrih in Dovže for approximately 100 meters we continue on the main road, and then blazes point us to the left on a side road on which we continue almost to the fire station. Before fire station we continue right and then immediately after the small bridge left on a cart track (direction Pungart), that is gently ascending by the small stream. After few meters, we leave the cart track, because signs for Grmovškov dom point us to the right into the forest, through which we steeply ascend to the nearby macadam road which we follow to the right. On the road, we walk only for a short time because soon after the left turn blazes again lead in the forest, through which we are then moderately ascending. The path ahead passes out of the forest on the edge of panoramic grassy slopes, on which we quickly ascend to the near farm.
Above the farm, or after well-settled chapel we step on the road which in a gentle ascent, we follow to the right. Further for quite some time, we continue on the road, and higher it brings us to the next farm (farm Pušel).
From the farm we continue on the road to the first left turn, here blazes lead left in the forest, through which we are moderately ascending on an old cart track. Soon we again step on the road, and we reach it right at a smaller crossroad. We continue on an ascending road which on the left side bypasses a cross, and we quickly leave it because blazes point us slightly to the right on an old cart track. The path quickly returns on the road, but we soon leave it as well. Further, we follow the blazes, and they lead us on an old cart track which is moderately ascending on with a forest covered ridge of Razborca. Higher, the path brings us out of the forest on a panoramic grassy ridge, on which we quickly walk to the nearby NOB monument.
Behind the monument path slightly descends and it brings us to the nearby forest road, on which we walk only a short time because then blazes point us slightly right on an ascending cart track which is further moderately ascending on with a forest covered ridge. The path ahead for quite some time leads on and by the ridge and at the crossings we carefully follow the blazes, not to go astray from the right path. A little higher we step on an asphalt road which leads from Slovenj Gradec towards the ski slope Kope. We follow the road to the right, and it past the mountain hut Lukov dom quickly brings us to a large parking lot and above it to the mountain hut Grmovškov dom na Kopah.
From the mountain hut Grmovškov dom we walk to a nearby small saddle, from there we go right on the path, that is gently ascending by children's ski track (while the ski slope operates we have to ascend by the edge of the ski track). Above the ski slope path passes on a cart track which is then ascending partly through the forest, and partly over ample meadows. The path ahead for some time leaves the forest and over wide and quite panoramic grassy slope gently ascends to snack bar Zajec.
Above the snack bar we cross a short lane of a forest, and the path behind it brings us on the upper grassy slope, on which in few minutes we walk on the highest peak of Pohorje.
