Access to starting point:
Highway Maribor-Graz-Salzburg (A9) after few shorter tunnels outside Graz we leave and we continue right on the highway in the direction of Wien-Bruck/Muhr-Peggau.
We leave the highway at exit Frohnleiten and we turn left. After the underpass, we turn right on a parking lot of the railway station, where we park.
Path description:
From the parking lot, we go by the road upwards through the underpass. After the underpass, we turn on a side road left downwards.
Next follows a smaller bridge which we cross and we continue right on a walking path along the stream upwards.
Behind the last house the signpost points us left into the forest. At the beginning, the path leads us upwards in hairpin turns, past a viewpoint. We then follow the path on the ridge upwards.
In between follows also few flat parts, but in spite of that the path towards the summit becomes steeper and steeper.
Few minutes below the first peak we get to a viewpoint with a small bench. Next follows a shorter ascent to the top.
From the peak with a cross we continue on the path on the other side downwards and we come to a crossing.
The left path leads on a steep slope downwards into Frohleiten, and we choose the right path in the direction of Rote Wand.
We get to open terrain with a view towards the west, we see neighbouring hill "Hochtrötsch".
After that, the path leads back into the forest. After 100 meters of the path, we go slightly upwards and we get to the highest point with the sign "1000m".
