Heidi Alm - Rodresnock (via Falkertscharte)

Access to starting point:
A) Through the Karawanks Tunnel, we drive into Austria, then continue driving on the Tauern motorway, which we leave already on the Villach bypass and continue driving towards the town of Feldkirchen. Further, we drive along Ossiacher See / Osojsko jezero to the already mentioned town. In Feldkirchen we continue left in the direction of the pass Turacher Höhe and drive ahead past the towns of Himmelberg, Gnesau, Mitterdorf to the town of Wiedweg, where from the left the road from Bad Kleinkirchheim also joins. From the mentioned junction, we continue towards the pass Turacher Höhe only a few hundred meters, then signs for the alpine pasture Heidialm and village and lake Falkertsee direct us left onto an ascending road. We follow the mentioned road to its end, where we park on one of the many parking lots.
B) From Styria or Carinthia, we first drive to Dravograd and then across the Vič border crossing into Austria, where we follow signs for Klagenfurt / Celovec. Further, we drive on the so-called South motorway, which we leave at Klagenfurt (direction Feldkirchen). Further, we drive on the regional road, by which we arrive at the already mentioned town. In Feldkirchen we continue right in the direction of the pass Turacher Höhe and drive ahead past the towns of Himmelberg, Gnesau, Mitterdorf to the town of Wiedweg, where from the left the road from Bad Kleinkirchheim also joins. Path description:
From the parking lot, we head in the direction of the Heidi-Alm park, to which we have 130 m. After 130 m, the path branches off to the left to the mentioned park (entrance fee required to view the park), but we continue straight ahead and continue the path along the road, which quickly takes us to the high-alpine lake Falkertsee.
From the lake, which we bypass on the left side, the path begins to ascend moderately and continues along an increasingly poor road. Somewhat higher, we arrive at a marked junction, where we continue right towards the saddle Falkertscharte (left is the ridge path to Rodresnock). We continue the ascent for some time along the poor road, then arrive at a small wooden hut, where it turns into a pleasant path. We continue along the high-alpine valley, which on the left is bordered by the steep slopes of Rodresnock, on the right by the south face of the peak Falkert, where a climbing path soon branches off.
We continue straight along the occasionally somewhat steeper path, along which with fine views we quickly reach the aforementioned saddle.
At the saddle, where there is a marked junction, we continue left (right to Falkert 20 minutes) and then along a moderately steep path that turns semicircularly to the left; after about 20 minutes of further walking, we reach the summit of Rodresnock.
