Hruševka - Dom na Menini planini

Access to starting point:
A) First, we drive to Kamnik, and then we continue driving through the valley Tuhinjska dolina. Ahead we drive through settlements Vrhpolje, Soteska, Srednja vas, Loke and Potok. At the village Potok road branches off to the left towards spa Terme Snovik, and we follow the main road only few 100 meters or to the spot, where signs for Hruševka point us to the left on a narrower local road. On the mentioned road, we ascend to some sort of center of the village, where signs for a footpath on St. Miklavž point us to the right downwards. Here the road at first descends a little and then starts gently ascending by stream Podbreški potok. After a short ascent, we come to "last" house in the village, and we park few 10 meters before, on an appropriate place by the road.
B) From highway Maribor - Ljubljana we go to the exit Vransko, and then we continue driving on the parallel old road towards Ljubljana. At the end of Vransko we will get to a crossroad, where we turn right towards the valley Tuhinjska dolina. Ahead we drive through settlements Motnik, Špitalič, Cirkuše, Laze, Šmartno and Buč. Behind the village Buč, signs for Hruševka point us to the right on a narrower local road. On the mentioned road, we ascend to some sort of center of the village, where signs for a footpath on St. Miklavž point us to the right downwards. Here the road at first descends a little and then starts gently ascending by stream Podbreški potok. After a short ascent, we come to "last" house in the village, and we park few 10 meters before, on an appropriate place by the road.

Path description:
From the starting point, we continue sharply right in the direction of the footpath on St. Miklavž. The path at first ascends through a lane of a forest and then it brings us by the edge of pastures, from where a nice view opens up on surroundings. At first, a little more overgrown path for some time returns into the forest and then leads past a log cabin, behind which we cross also a lane of bushes. After the bushes, the path widens into a cart track, and it turns sharply to the left and it brings us into a dense forest. For a short time, we still walk on a cart track, and then blazes point us to the right on an increasingly steep footpath. This quite steep path, which is all the time ascending through the forest, we then follow all the way to the church of St. Miklavž on Gora, from which a beautiful view opens up.
From the church of St. Miklavž we continue on a macadam road in the direction of Prevala. The road at first starts slightly descending, and then it brings us to the spot, where left downwards short footpath branches off towards the nearby well, and we still continue on the road, and it starts gently ascending. After a short ascent, the road brings us on a smaller saddle, where a marked footpath branches off to the right towards Prevala. We go on the mentioned path, which for some time slightly descends, and then passes on a ridge named V grebenih.
Here the path becomes pretty steep and continues on and by in parts quite steep and on some spots also slightly exposed ridge (mainly in wet is on some parts dangerous for slipping). Higher, the path flattens and from the ridge brings us on the edge of a larger and overgrown clearing. Here the path turns left in the forest and gently descends to the near forest road which we follow to the left. For some time we are descending on the mentioned road, and then we get to a crossroad, in the middle of which stands a cross. From the crossroad, we continue on a marked cart track in the direction of Prevala, to which we have 40 more minutes of ascent. Cart track is at first relatively steeply ascending through the forest, higher crosses old clearing, and then it flattens and brings us on a poorly marked crossing.
At the spot, where the cart track turns left, in the direction of straight continues a marked footpath which is at first moderately and higher steeply ascending through the forest. This path, which is in the last part before Prevala also overgrown with raspberry bushes, we follow all the way to a saddle Prevala, from which a nice view opens up.
From Prevala we continue towards the north and we start descending over panoramic slopes of the upper part of the mountain pasture Planina Ravni. After a short descent, we step on a wider cart track, we follow it to the right and after few 10 strides of additional walking, we get to the shepherd hut on the mentioned mountain pasture.
From the mountain pasture Planina Ravni we continue in the direction of the mountain hut Dom na Menini planini and mountain pasture Planina Travnik. The path ahead slightly ascends and quickly passes into the forest, through which then for some time continues. A little further, we join a wide cart track, on which we soon come out of the forest. When we come out of the forest, we step on the western part of the mountain pasture Travnik, over which we then walk to the shepherd hut on the other side of the mountain pasture. To there leads us poorly visible footpath which crosses the mountain pasture.
From the cottage, we continue past nearby cross and bell, behind which marked path turns to the right. Next follows a pleasant walk on the path which is at first gentlly and then moderately ascending over an ample pastures. Higher, the path goes into the forest, where gradually starts descending. The path soon again starts ascending and it brings us to a macadam road which we follow to the right. Few minutes we walk on the mentioned road, and then blazes point us to the right on a footpath which moderately ascends through a dense forest. Higher, we once again cross the road which gradually brings us on pastures of Menina planina. With some shorter ascents and descents we continue on a pleasant path, which after a little longer descent joins also the path from Gornji Grad (path past Jespa).
We continue right in the direction of the mountain hut Dom na Menini planini, on the path which crosses a lane of a forest and then it brings us to the parking lot near already mentioned mountain hut. From the parking lot, we continue through a meadow and the path, from which a nice view opens up on chain of Kamnik Savinja Alps, quickly brings us to the mountain hut Dom na Menini planini.
