We drive to Bohinjska Bistrica, and then we continue driving towards Lake Bohinj. When in Ribčev Laz we get to the lake we continue right over a bridge and past the church of St. John the Baptist we drive to the nearby crossroad, where signs for a parking lot point us to the left. From the crossroad, we drive for approximately 300 meters and then we park on a parking lot near the lake. The parking lot is payable, payable is also majority of the nearby parking lots. Settled free parking lot is at the beginning of Ribčev Laz, this extends the path for approximately 15 minutes.
Path description:
From the parking lot, we return to the road which leads towards Stara Fužina, and we continue on a sidewalk to Stara Fužina. At the beginning of the mentioned settlement we notice signs for climbing area Peč, Rudnica and cycling path, which point us to the right on the bridge over the river Mostnica. On the other side of the bridge we continue straight, after that few steps ahead, when cycling path turns right, we continue straight on a footpath in the direction of Peč and Rudnica. The path ahead leads through the forest, and here and there leads us also past some shorter viewpoint. When after few minutes of ascent, the path flattens we continue straight in the direction of Rudnica (right viewpoint Peč - good 5 minutes).
Further, we walk on a gentle path, which quickly brings us to a meadow, through which we lightly descend. Next follows few minutes of crossing, after we reach riverbed of smaller stream we continue right by the small stream upwards (left on a cart track we can descend to Stara Fužina or cycling path), where already after few steps we notice a blaze. Cart track, on which we were walking in the last part, we quickly leave because signs for Rudnica point us to the left. Next follows few minutes of a moderate ascent, and then we step on one more meadow, where from the left joins another path from Stara Fužina or Studor in Bohinj, and from the right one of the paths from the settlement Brod. From the meadow, from where we continue straight in the direction of Rudnica a view opens up a little on the nearby peaks of Julian Alps, and a little further also a nice view towards Bohinjska Bistrica and Spodnje Bohinjske gore. When the path from the ridge, on which we were short time walking returns on the slopes, we step on a larger meadow from which a view towards Lake Bohinjs opens up. We continue past a smaller wooden cottage, where from the left joins another path from Stara Fužina, and then we ascend through a meadow in the forest, through which in few steps we reach the main ridge of Rudnica.
Here from the right joins also normal path from the village Brod, and we continue left and we quickly reach the peak of Rudnica, from which a nice view opens up through a valley Zgornja Bohinjska dolina.
